Jacqueline Thomas in an interview with Cross admitted she knew about the alleged abuse and had not done anything to stop it, according to information in the affidavit. The boy had extensive bruising across several parts of his body, including his stomach, when he was taken from the home, the affidavit stated...

After the boy talked to a teacher at school about what he said was happening, the case was reported to authorities, and the Thomas' son was taken from their home. "The child was so relieved when he found out (he was leaving)," Cross said. "It was a burden lifted." The boy has been placed in foster care. An emergency protective order has been issued to keep Scott Thomas away from him, Cross said. The Thomases remained in the Angelina County Jail late Wednesday, each on a $10,000 bond, a jail official said
