''At the time, detectives said McAdams’ engagement ring was taken during the attack.
Police alerted area pawn shops to the missing ring at the time.
Her alleged killer also left behind a distinctive shoeprint outside her home, according to police.''

'Terri McAdams, a 22-year-old UT Arlington student, was found beaten to death inside her apartment on Valentine’s Day 1985. Investigators struggled to find her killer, but no arrests were made and the case went cold until now.
The Arlington Police Department and FBI said they will announce major developments today in the investigation of McAdams’ murder.'

''On Feb. 14, 1985, McAdams’ body was found in the apartment she shared with her fiance in the 2500 block of Walnut Hill Circle. She had been brutally beaten and sexually assaulted.''

''The killer, Bernard Sharp, took his own life months after McAdams’ death, police said. He shot himself after killing his wife and her friend and critically wounding her cousin in Arlington on Nov. 3, 1985. Sharp apparently did not know McAdams and killed her at random, police said. His criminal history included sexual assaults of two other victims.''
