Lots of emotion here... all about the victims .. and I think it is possible that MR may have been one himself.

Maybe what is more important is the motivation of Ronan Hughes to rent the trailer from GTR for a week?

A victim of his own greed more than likely ...

The owners of GTR rentals also have a import and export business (brockagh) it would appear. There’s no sign of GTR ltd at companies house but still searching... The same directors (Mark and Kay who I think are mother and son) are then also linked to alcohol shops it seems as per companies house. Then it also seems another son of one director of GTR (Kay who is the mother) it seems may also be linked to Iffiness relating to fuel laundering or something. I’m continuing to look at the links and info ... The probe could run deep ...

GTR operators prove difficult to contact as sources say 'nothing suggests involvement'

Is it odd that companies which have been wound up ... are still trading?

I know nothing of the Road Haulage business, but there seem to be many players in each transaction (legal or illegal). There is the person with the goods who wants to ship to the person needing said goods. There are brokerage firms who match that journey to a transport company? There is the supply of a suitable trailer for the goods. The supply of a tractor to pull that trailer for all (or part) of it's journey. And a driver (or drivers) to actually drive the truck.... plus maybe loaders and unloaders.. and someone to do the paperwork.

There is also the possibility, I guess, of multiple transport companies being involved.. with a journey being split into stages?

At what point does someone think ... I must hire a trailer for a week? And who has overall control over that trailers usage?

‘I know he was in that truck because I have relatives who are working over there [in the UK] who called me and told me.

‘They were supposed to pick him up at the drop point but then they called and told me Tu was in that truck.’
Federal police in Belgium are studying CCTV footage of the haulier who transported the 39 migrants into Zeebrugge site.

It has emerged that the driver was picked up by CCTV cameras ten times at the port.

I've lost the thread. Who are you replying to? Who was in the truck? Who was being picked up and who is Tu?

I’m not replying to anyone it’s a link to MSM (I quoted interesting paragraphs) regarding people they now believe were in that reefer , Tu is thought to be one of them and family were ment to get him when he was freed . The article also delves into another trafficker that has spoken to an undercover reporter

And highlighting these words ;
However, while it was previously reported that the 23-year-old had been detained in relation to the probe into the lorry tragedy, Essex Police has told Sun Online that he is being held on offences “unconnected” with the 39 deaths.
Essex cops ID victims by fingerprints amid fears 100 were smuggled to UK in 3-lorry convoy as fifth person arrested
The statement read: “We are in liaison with the Garda police in relation to an arrest they have made today at Dublin Port.

“At this point he is only being processed by the Garda in relation to unconnected offences to the Essex Police investigation.”

How fine is the line between a trucker moving a trailer a few miles, to provide a better home or life for his young family, and a person attempting to circumvent border controls in order to provide a better home or life for their family? Perhaps such a trucker even thought he was helping them to a new and better life ...

Not saying this is the case ... it may be just greed .. but I am not sure speculation about motive or intent is really helpful.

Now trading as C Hughes Logistics according to reports

a Chrissy Hughes on Facebook was advertising (in may) on his page for drivers to work in Ireland UK and Europe with experience in fridges / hanging meat / lambs... he’s a friend of mo on Facebook. Again there’s quite a few Hughes lorry drivers with big fancy trucks it seems. Mo also seems to have a Friend on Facebook who may be linked to / one of the peeps from a fuel laundering plot for which people were convicted (these people seem to Link to the devlin family who have the seemingly dodgy trailer rental as well as links to waste companies (Where fuel laundering waste was found) / skip companies and booze shops Via the mother who is or was a director / secretary on many of these as well as other family members it seems). She is old it would seem so how much she knows of her involvement in all this would be good to know

The convicted fuel launderer who appears to be on Mo’s Facebook (as well as other iffy folk) is also a self employed lorry driver (or was when he was done for the fuel laundering and he’s also got lorries on his Facebook page). Quite a good cover for lots of wrong doing I imagine these lorries and trailers.

Wow -absolutely correct

What other motive could there be besides money... hardly the act of a missionary with goodness in their hearts to free them to a better place is it? And really, that comparison is the biggest pile of nonsense I’ve ever read. There is no fine line there. There’s mo in a nice house with nice cars and big trucks and hols to Abu Dhabi or a Vietnamese being trafficked for sex / nails whatever so they can send a few hundred quid home. <modsnip: Don't be rude.>

Update: Sunday 27 October 11:24
Three people arrested in connection with the investigation into the deaths of the 39 people whose bodies were found in Grays on Wednesday have been released on bail.

A 38 year-old man and a 38 year-old woman from Warrington were arrested in Cheshire on Friday 25 October while a 45 year-old man from Northern Ireland was arrested at Stansted Airport later the same day.

All three had been questioned on suspicion of manslaughter and conspiracy to traffic people.

The man and woman from Warrington have both been released on bail until 11 November while the man from Northern Ireland has been bailed until 13 November.

We would asked the public and media not to speculate in relation to the bail of these people or their identities.

A 25 year-old man – Maurice Robinson, of Laurel Drive, Craigavon, Northern Ireland – is due to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (Monday 28 October) charged with 39 counts of manslaughter, conspiracy to traffic people, conspiracy to assist unlawful immigration, and money laundering.

We remind members of the media that criminal proceedings against Mr Robinson are now active and that he has a right to a fair trial. It is extremely important that there should be no reporting, commentary or sharing of information online which could in any way prejudice these proceedings.

You’re obviously running very high on emotions ched because of the circumstances. What I’m saying is, with the assumption that they weren’t dead, as mo would have thought, it would be tempting to bring them to where they needed to be for 5k. You’ll probably disagree to that too but each to their own.

edit:

I think when I see the photos on Mo’s verified Facebook page of his very beautiful house and land, it’s hard to believe or understand why he would accept involvement in such heinous activity for a one off 5k.

That’s actually a really good point come to think of it.

Edit: unless it is one of many?

that’s really got me thinking, thanks for this

‘Friends of Mr Robinson said he had worked for C Hughes Transport in the past.’

Ronan Hughes is also a friend of Mo's on Facebook under the name 'Ronan O hAodha'. His pics show several trucks with 'R. Hughes' decals on them, some of the photos look like they're taken in the same location as the pics in this article, with the driveway on an incline.

Really, give your head a shake...

You are quite right .. the motive is money.. the truck driver wants more ... the person in the truck wants more...

Both are contravening international laws to achieve that aim.
