Dotta - I thought the same thing about the school. What exactly was their long term plan. I think Emma knew what she wanted. She made it clear she didn't want Arthur, but didn't want him to leave her house as he'd 'win'.
How TH couldn't put 2 + 2 together and realise the problems started when he met ET is beyond me.
There's so many 'if only's' here. If only he'd tasted the sandwiches prepared by ET, or questioned why Arthur was so thirsty, or viewed the CCTV, or properly spoke to his son.
The shower thing was awful. I wonder if she used hot or cold water punishments, as well as leaving him in there as an alternative to the hall.
Reminds me of the Adrian Jones (USA) case.

Dotta, I personally love the way your mind works and the way you come at things. I may not always agree with the same things as you, but I always admire your passion behind your statements.

I think TH answering “he was fine” was down to the fact, that this was the “norm” for them now. It was completely normal for Arthur be excluded, isolated, punished, abused. It was normal to both TH and ET, therefore he was “fine” in their eyes.

It means that TH placed more attention and love (whether that be coerced/forced/manipulated or not) on ET than he did arthur. If we strip this back to the very bare bones of this, it is an adult choosing another adult/relationship over their child. It is a repetitive pattern that we have seen with Bernadette Walker, Kaylee Jade Priest, Star Hobson. It is how a lot of these kids end up like this - a parent putting a relationship first.

You will drive yourself mental trying to understand these people, because you are NOT like one of these people. You have a moral compass, compassion, empathy etc… these people do not.
:)
You are "down to earth" and Im always "flying among clouds" haha
But we both want Justice for Arthur!

The "shower thing" was doubly cruel as it was claustrophobic!

Haha I like that analogy!:D
I have a very strong feeling that Justice for Arthur is coming and I think it’s coming with a vengeance!
Im waiting impatiently for Mr Hankin to do his job!!!
I even Googled the man and WOW! He is one of the best.
He is also a specialist in head trauma and its effects.
Keeping my fingers crossed!

The prosecuting QC for Arthur was on the Daniel Pelka case, I'm sure they got 60 years. The mum committed suicide, and the step dad had a heart attack. Hope this awful pair get the same

I just googled him myself and you’re both correct!

Notable cases being Daniel Pelka and also Samantha Eastwood.

I googled him too, he is the real deal. Lets hope he gets a good rest this weekend, so he is running on full steam next week and grills TH and stands up for Arthur

Well, I might let my imagination run with me (as usual - Sigh).
I mean her confessing to Ms P.
But...
In my opinion, they both wanted Arthur dead.
Do you remember when Mr Richmond asked TH how Arthur was that fateful day before TH went to shop (as usual)?

TH answered:" He was fine."

Is he for real? Deluded?
Arthur was skeletal, unable to move.
And TH went merilly to buy balloons.
What does it mean???

Well, ET is mentally ill suicidal woman.
TH is - according to me - mentally and emotionally retarded.
His behaviour seems to be of an early teen (sponging on his parents, then a lover, playing playstation, hanging out in shopping centres, completely irresponsible sex resulting in numerous pregnancies).

Arthur was an obstacle to both of them.
Did they plan his future? When was he going to return to school?

MOO

What you say about TH is so true, its like he never matured past 16 and doesnt have the mental capacity to put a childs needs before his. His first time living outside his parents home, he probably found Arthur to be getting in the way of him lazing around playing playstation and having sex with his evil girlfriend

This horrible case, this poor little boy. That such people exist - these two horrors, and the monstrous woman in the other devastating child death currently on trial (little Star Hobson) - is so so hard to understand.

What was the point of feeding poor Arthur salt? "Just" to torture him, or to cause death by kidney failure, or what? it must have been a struggle to get the stuff into him, manhandling him to force it down, dealing with the gagging and so on. Why not 'just' starve him?

Im from Ireland, so there is nothing on our news stations about Arthurs case. Is it very talked about in the UK? I feel like these two monsters need to be found out everywhere for what they did
Not been on the TV at all. Birmingham Mail has the live feed, and The Daily Mail have reported daily - their coverage sometimes has things not mentioned in the live feed. The BBC and Sky report on it occasionally on their website, but their coverage has been pretty sketchy.
And most people either don't know or don't want to.

Nice to see you over here @merryforge!

According to one of the doctors, Arthur was poisoned with salt over a period of time with a final bolus being administered before his death. If you look through @Tortoise posts, you should find it. Most of us have surmised that Arthur had salt added to foods to make them inedible. I believe this was to further cement the narrative of him being a “naughty” child and his self harming behaviours eg refusing food, starving himself…. I do believe father was unaware of the salt aspect, that’s only my opinion.

This case is as traumatic as Star Hobson’s. It involves many of the same themes - same relationship set up, same SS interventions, same worried and ostracised family members.

You know, the Pandemic caused us all much suffering, but the most detrimental effects (apart from the families which lost their loved ones), were for victims of domestic abuse.

Can you imagine being locked with your tormentor/s for 24/7?

Some abusers indulged in alcohol while not working (on furlough) staying at home.

Psychologists and therapists raised the loud alarm.

Sadly, Arthur was also a victim of this terrible time.

Good health to everyone!

I think TH was relieved when Arthur died, saw it coming and was waiting for it to happen. That's why he was gone a lot of the time, he wanted out of that situation he saw no real way out and just wanted the whole thing to be over. Tustin was relentless with relaying what Arthur was doing every minute of every day, I think he knew the abuse went too far and there was no way back and he just accepted his boy would die any day soon. I think he's a pathetic excuse for a person, I can't understand having a loving relationship with your son, then you start a romantic relationship with someone and she's so domineering she turns you against your baby and then he's dead.
