- Did Scott tie poor B to a tree like he did with the dolls? And strangle her there before getting rid of her.

- Someone mentioned a body could be hidden around Hampton earlier on in the posts. Looking online, there's a secluded wood that doesn't get a lot of visitors (which I have been to before). It's approx 14 miles south from Century Square. It's called Holme Fen. That place sticks out in my mind because when I last went there, it looked like no-one had been there for a long time.

- Why would the wheelchair be in the lockup (as I think shown in one of the media's photos) when it was needed for one of the disabled children. Not relevant to the case I don't think but I was surprised it was in there and not in the house. I did have a thought run through my (suspicious) mind that when she contacted the paper to report a stolen wheelchair, it wasn't stolen at all - it was in the lockup. So she could get more money from the readers and Scott could spend it on the horses. I'm probably wrong though.

Did he use the wheelchair to transport the body? Shudder! Dogs would have picked up a scent, right?

Those dolls, what a horrible thought, but we know he was into weird, ghoulish stuff. We're not allowed to talk about things said by others on social media, but ScW had alluded to being a 'psycho'.

Holme Fen is a unique woodland area. The pub nearby claims to be the lowest in Britain at 3m below sea level. The ground would be hard to dig because of all the roots but there are certainly lots of hidey places.

ScW's car, while they didn't find evidence of foulplay in it, can anyone remember if they found bits of grass and such on his tyres?

By chance I drove through the area east of Peterborough at the weekend. I always take interest in my surroundings when visiting an unfamiliar part of the country.

Bernadette’s case suddenly came to mind when I saw the familiar place name ‘Cowbit’ signposted. It gave me quite a jolt when I realised that poor young lady’s remains could be hidden anywhere in this vast area.

The terrain is very different from where I live, in N Yorkshire, 150 miles to the north. I was already finding the drive fascinating, marvelling at the flatness of the land, the degree of cultivation, lack of hedgerows, and network of deep drainage ditches……vast open spaces…very different to the type of farming I am familiar with.

In my head I was considering the declining population of the British hedgehog, when suddenly became aware I was in the precise area we suspect BW’s body may have been hidden.

Seeing it for myself, made me realise SW’s options were limited.

There is a lot of sparsely populated cultivated land & the roads, though quiet, are narrow, exposed & bordered by deep ditches. A car stopping on a road like this would certainly be noticed, if someone else happened to be in the area at the time.

The ditches (I presume) must be periodically dredged, so a body, in time, may be exposed. ( I suppose if sufficient time has elapsed between murder & recovery, there may be insufficient evidence to prove a crime has been committed. I don’t feel SW would have chosen this option unless acting on the spur of the moment without much thought)

In my mind, ‘disposal’ ( apologies for the word) is much more likely to have been in a heavily wooded area, not far off the road, where there is space to pull a car off the road.

Alternatively a derelict or infrequently used building, which afforded privacy for a period of time. I noticed that many of the farmhouses in this area were completely surrounded by a tall hedge/trees, presumably to provide a windbreak.

With both these options, one would presume SW knew exactly where he was heading & full disposal likely took place under the cover of darkness.

I am jumping off your post @CSIAngus & know I’m not saying anything new to you all.

Just agreeing & sharing my thoughts on seeing the area for the first time myself.

I too am going to take another look at the timeline, a link to which is included on the first post of the thread.

( Sorry for lengthy post)

I actually like folk to see the area for themselves as it’s new eyes and gets across what us locals think too.

I believe you are right and there’s an element of pre planning, but also there was only 12 hours between the poor girl announcing what had happened and her never being seen again, so a lot had to be winged. I would be thinking of spinneys, coppices and so forth down those narrow back lanes and farm tracks. It’s unlikely during lockdown you would see someone on a Sunday morning, but if anyone spotted a stopped car, it would be game over.

Lockdown rules had been relaxed at that point.

Alarm as grisly human remains discovered in pond. Probably not related. Could SW have made it up to Fulstow?
Gotta admit my heart skipped a beat when I saw 'Skull found in Lincolnshire village duck pond', but Fulstow is a two hour drive from Peterborough, and that's if you're taking the main roads. Still within the realm of possibility, but owing to its distance from Peterborough and its obscure location, I'd agree and say probably not related.

Posted by mistake! Sorry!

2 years today Bee, it is still hoped you are found soon so you get the send off you deserve.

Spoke to AW today, there's alot you are all not aware of, but last time we was made out to be liars, so I'll say nothing.

As she is still being spoken about here, it's the right thing to do to aknowledge her not just on the day she went missing , but most likely the anniversary of her death.

Sleep tight Angel, forever young xxxx

I truly hope one day everyone gets answers. I’m not sure what you’re referring to with the liars bit (and I’m very sorry that happened) but I know there’s people here who would be interested in any new information.

The judge was very clear about what his/her conclusion was, and everyone here was happy with that conclusion.
I'm not sure it's fair to confuse everyone saying some illusive "there's things you don't know".
Because people (like the siblings) could worry even more about what on earth happened.
It's been investigated by all kinds of experts. Alluding to some conspiracy theories won't help anyone.
Scott killed Bernadette to prevent being outed as a predater. Sarah didn't speak when she should have.
Give us the burial location.
That's it.
There's no mystery as far as I'm concerned. Apart from where exactly Bernadette was laid to rest. That's the only mystery.

I really thought SaW would have said something by now, is anyone else surprised she hasn’t?

I'm thinking that she really does not know where the body is. Even though she played a part in it, confessing now with no location of the body would gain nothing for her. He would just deny any involvement and put a spotlight back on her. She is going to bide her time and take the easy route. She knows he will confess nothing.

By saying nothing about where Bernadettes body is she can keep up this lie to her older children that she had nothing to do with it and have them welcome her back with open arms when she gets out of prison. It makes me sad she wasn't given longer.

I agree entirely. She has convinced them she did nothing wrong. She will get to live her life again unlike poor Bernadette. Think she is pretty sure B will never be found and will probably carry on with the whole missing nonsense when she is out !

Her only worry is of Scott talking, so maybe she is in contact with him to keep him sweet ( i assume she is allowed to make calls and write to him). She is still the one in control of the whole thing. I really feel for her children and there blindness to see it all.

From July 2022

The brother of a teenager murdered by her stepfather said he wished she would "turn up out of nowhere", two years after she was last seen.

Bernadette Walker was 17 when she disappeared on 18 July 2020. Scott Walker was convicted of murdering her, despite no body being found.

His trial heard he killed her after she claimed he had sexually abused her.
In a social media post, her brother Anthony Walker said: "I just wish I could live one more day with you."

[...]

Anthony Walker, who previously told the BBC the family "kept going to the police" about Walker's violent behaviour, posted an emotional tribute to Bernadette on a Facebook page dedicated to her, ahead of the second anniversary of her disappearance.

"You [were] more than a sister, you [were] one of my best friends and I really can't believe it's been two years since I've heard or even seen from you," he said.

"I really wish you'd turn up out of nowhere fine and alive or out of nowhere call or text but I know the chances in that happening are practically impossible.

"I just wish I could live one more day with you even if it was just for five minutes.

"Wherever you are Bernadette Walker I hope you're in a way better place.

"You deserve nothing but to be at peace and hopefully one day we can find you and give you that. We all miss and love you so much and hopefully one day will see you at least one final time to say our goodbyes properly."

Looks like the Police have put this one to bed. It's like they have a conviction and the bodily remains of BW no longer matter to them. There was talk around the facebook group set up be BW's brother of searching for BW. That was over a year ago. Did any of that happen or was that just an empty suggestion? Is anyone looking?

I never saw anything about the search again in the Facebook group after the initial discussion.

Agree about the police. I suppose they can't spend lots of money now they have a conviction.

I hope someone is looking for her, she pops into my head every so often. So upsetting to think of what she went through
