It does sound like there was an amount of velocity involved to cause a fractured skull.
Could only be shaking, throwing or crushing or dropping
The former two scenarios likely involving anger/ rage. The latter to could relate to Drug/alcohol abuse I guess.
I'll keep an open mind though. I have known one incident where a Dr dropped a premature baby during delivery and caused brain damage. It happens unfortunately.
