The missing people in Wales who have never been found

Despite a series of appeals and searches, the 22-year-old remains missing weeks after she was last seen on November 15 2021.

Police said she was last seen on South Stack Road, Holyhead, not far from the RSPB nature reserve, walking in the direction of the lighthouse on South Stack, on the day she disappeared. Police originally stated they believed Ms Maguire may be in the Bangor area and were concerned for her safety.

I have a tenuous connection to this as my friend knows the Maguire family and we have discussed the case. I’ve been to South Stack lighthouse and there is little else there but steep cliffs, jagged rocks and a choppy looking sea - certainly not somewhere you’d expect to survive or be rescued if you fell in.

Sadly, my friend’s gut feeling is suicide purely because of the direction Cat was heading, and apparently there are previous cases of people dying in that area of sea and never being found. Her poor family.

Thanks for sharing this. The police haven't mentioned if she was depressed or struggling but guess you know more than you can say?

Yes the bag is my problem 2, If Catrin was anywhere near water, surely that bag would of floated somewhere and would of been fond. Catrin also bought a return train ticket from Bangor to Holyhead, if she had no intension of coming back why not just buy a one way ticket? MOO.

I think about Catrin a lot. Her disappearance has plagued my mind and my gut tells me someone’s hurt her. I pray this isn’t the case. I created an account just to agree with others above, this doesn’t feel like a suicide case

Catrin's flatmate was one of the people she had pizza/film night with on Saturday Nov 13. That was the last time they saw her. Based on the article about her dad above it said they were already living in the flat, but just hadn't signed the agreement yet. Where did Catrin sleep on Saturday night? Where was she on Sunday?

She bought a return train ticket from Bangor to Holyhead, so that implies that she was planning on going back to Bangor.
The timeline as we know it after that is:
- 12:20 she was seen on Thomas St. in Holyhead (this is just a short distance from the train station)
- 13:18 seen by the South Stack cafe. This timing fits with walking from Thomas St. It's a 54 minute walk according to a map app.
- 13:57 latest train back to Bangor that would get Catrin back in time for her meeting. Unless she got a ride from South Stacks back to the train station she could not have caught this train in time. [I've based the train schedule on the current schedule for tomorrow (a Monday) so this might not have been the same schedule last year.]
- 15:00 missed her planned meeting back at her Hill St flat in Bangor.

It seems to me that Catrin planned to go back to Bangor but changed her mind. The fact that she was alone and that she changed her plans makes me believe that the likeliest scenario is self harm. Of course I hope she simply ran off to escape something bothering her in her life. I don't suspect foul play. MOO.

It is about an hour walk from Thomas Street to RSPB South Stack. I think she most likely would have walked through Llaingoch and then taken the road past Holyhead Mountain to get there.
She wouldn't have made the train unless she was getting a lift, a taxi or was planning on getting the bus back to Bangor but she still would have been late, buses are every 30 mins or so (if you're lucky) and can take 1 hr 40 mins if not longer depending on the route. There is still flyers up for Catrin at train station and around the town, is very sad to see them and know her family havent any answers.
