Bob Downes claimed to be drinking alone in Barney's. In the book he's said to be sat at home then borrowed a bike to look round the arcades. He had no further account of his whereabouts for the remainder of the weekend

She then says Charlene's friends got off the number 2 bus at the stop near the winter gardens. This is untrue as buses were diverted by Cookson Street after 1700 hours due to heavy traffic caused by the illuminations. It isn't possible to see the Cookson Street bus stop from where she was

Yes, one of the more famous disapearances the county has. £100,000 reward for a body is a lot of money, i havent seen that much for a UK case, is tempting to go searching as im not that far away....

I have long suspected Robert Ewing of being Charlene's killer and being the Bob mentioned reports. At the time of Charlene's disappearance Ewing lived 2 bus stops away from the Downes in the now demolished tower block in Blackpool's Queenstown.
To have evaded justice for 8 years and succesfully disposing of Paige Chiver's body is either remarkable beginner's luck or suggests previous experience of murder and body disposal.
Ewing was a fromer soldier like Robert Downes senior & a member of several far right organisations. He moved to nearby Bispham shortly after Charlene vanished and where he would later kill Paige Chivers.
Ewing moved from the west midlands to Blackpool at the same time as the Downes, Nigel Lloyd, ( also a former soldier and far right extremist member) & another man who paid Charlene £40 for a sex act. Disturbingly this man is on Karen Downe's friends list!
While living in Hereford (where Ewing was charged with offences against children) & near to the west midlands several disappearances of young people took place.
In 1991 Nicola Payne vanished from the west midlands near Ewing's home. Nicola looked much younger than 18.
In 1996 Patrick Warren & David Spencer vanished without trace, once again Ewing lived nearby. He has convictions for offences against boys also
In 2003 Charlene Downes vanished form Blackpool, 2 bus stops 7 a 10 minute walk from his home
In 2003 Natalie Putt vanished from the west midlands, Ewing had family & friends there and was known to return to the area.
I'm looking into far right demonstrations across the UK as he was also known to travel to them.
A new follow up documentary is being made and will be revealed at the end of 2019/early 2020.

Is this follow up documentary still being made? What will the content be as it seems there is no new info on this case currently

There's a lot of contradictions when it comes to what the Downes claim. The leaked documents if authentic are a heartbreaking read. Poor kid barely stood a chance of having a decent life with that environment.

Raymond Munro, was a convicted paedophile awaiting sentence living with the Downes family at the time of Charlene's disappearance. It was published in the local evening paper and radio news that he was found guilty and bailed awaiting sentence. Munro's landlord evicted him on hearing of his crime. Munro and Glen Paget were living in Windsor Terrace Fleetwood near the police station. Munro had to sign on daily as per his bail conditions. The day before Charlene vanished a police car saw Charlene with the 2 men and became concerned a 14 year old girl was with a convicted paedophile and walking hand in hand with an adult male Paget. The police returned Charlene and told Karen why. She remained unconcerned !

When Charlene was 11 she was found to be having a sexual relationship with an adult female neighbor. Bob Downes was unconcerned when informed. This woman has never been charged like all the other adults who abused Charlene
