It was bitterly cold overnight last night with a groundfrost first thing. I hope he's saught the company of a friend or something.

It's freezing in London, never mind up north.

I sincerely hope he's snuck off to see a 'lady friend' or somebody, lost track of time and doesn't realise what a panic he's caused.

20 November 2019:

Today his granddaughter Emma Schofield said CCTV showed he left his home at around 4.30am on Sunday morning.

Posting on the Facebook group Find Colin Vasey she said: "From viewing some CCTV we believe that grandad left his flat around 4.30am Sunday morning!

"He turned left, through the car park possibly down Smallwood Road towards Owl Lane. Any CCTV around the area at that time is imperative that you check from 4am-4.30am onwards and please contact us ASAP."

Police searches involving drones and specialist officers, with support from West Yorkshire Rescue Fire Service boats, have been ongoing in Dewsbury around the minster, the industrial park area and the canal to try and find him.

Lauren said: “My grandad is a very lovable character who is loved by many.

"We just want him home. We are very, very upset and it’s getting harder and harder each day. We just want him home so much.”

I thought the police couldn't confirm the B&Q sighting from CCTV

I don't know, I'm trying to follow the FB page - wish someone would do an official timeline! As it stands, with where he was last headed, I reckon he's in the Calder.

I read on the fb group page that a body has been found in the Calder this morning at 10.30 am. When I looked for news articles about this I found this one but it has November 18th at the top of the article so I'm not sure if they just haven't updated the date or if it was another incident last week. The details just seem too similar to not be connected.

The body of a man has been recovered from the River Calder today.

Emergency crews were called to Sowerby Bridge at 10.23am today close to an industrial site that runs alongside the river. [...]

No further details have been released about the identity of the man.

I can only find articles dated with last Monday's date so I'm presuming for now it wasn't Colin. It's very odd. Is the Sowerby Bridge near where he was last sighted on cctv?

Sowerby Bridge is a small town about 15-20 miles away from Dewsbury where Colin was last seen. Same river, obviously, but I believe it runs west to east so SB is upstream from Dewsbury. If Colin fell in he'd be found in the opposite direction. I still think it's very likely he ended up in the water.
