The changed header on this thread is confusing.

What I originally put was:

Doug Carroll, 29, Tunbridge Wells, Kent. Last seen 20 April 2021, car found abandoned in Berks

It's now been six months since Doug Carroll was last seen.

On the six-month anniversary of his disappearance, we are renewing our appeal and releasing new images.

One of these images is of his car, captured on ANPR cameras on or around the day he went missing.

Doug was last seen in Tunbridge Wells on 20 April and was known to drive to Reading and left his car on The Ridgeway on 21 April.

Did you see him? Did you see him leaving his car, a grey Peugeot?

We've had no confirmed sightings in six months and are re-appealing for information that can help us find him.

Please share our appeal and call us if you have any information, no matter how insignificant you believe this may be.

What a beautiful guy! He could be a model.
Where the heck did you go, Doug?
Hoping for his safe return.

On the six-month anniversary of the disappearance of Doug Carroll, officers from Thames Valley Police are today (20/10) releasing new images in a renewed appeal for help in locating him.

The last confirmed sighting of Doug was in Tunbridge Wells, Kent on Tuesday 20 April, and it is known that he then travelled to the Reading area.

Officers subsequently located Doug’s vehicle near the Ridgeway at Compton in West Berkshire on 21 April, but he has not been seen by anybody.

Today, officers are releasing a new image of Doug and his vehicle and asking the public to contact the force if they believe that they saw the vehicle, or Doug, at the Ridgeway on or around 21 April.

Doug is described as around 6ft 3ins tall, of slim build with brown hair and brown eyes.

He was last seen wearing a black hooded top, a black t-shirt, black Ellesse jogging bottoms and black Vans trainers.

He was also carrying with him a black Poker Stars rucksack and is believed to have had black sunglasses with him.

Investigating officer Detective Sergeant Jon Shaw, of Abingdon CID, said: “It has now been six months since Doug was last seen, and naturally, his family and his partner are very distressed at his disappearance, that was completely out of character for him.

“Since he was last seen in Tunbridge Wells, we have ascertained that he travelled to Reading and then on to Compton, where he has left his car.

“We have no confirmed sightings of Doug leaving his vehicle, and we have no clue as to where he went after doing so.

“Today, we are releasing an image of Doug’s car, along with some new photographs, and are again appealing to the public for help.

“Were you up on the Ridgeway on 21 April this year? Do you remember seeing a man matching Doug’s description or this car, either on the Ridgeway or driving towards the Ridgeway?

“We had a possible sighting reported of Doug leaving his car on foot in the general direction of Aldworth, but there have been no confirmed sightings of him.

“The Ridgeway is a very popular area for walkers, and I am sure that someone will have seen him, or his vehicle around 21 April.

“I would urge anybody with any information, no matter how insignificant you feel this may be, to please contact Thames Valley Police.

“Were you on the Ridgeway taking photographs, or have mobile phone footage, or do you live in the area and have CCTV footage from around this time?

“Any information would be gratefully received as we continue to search for Doug.

“His family need to know what has happened to Doug and we continue to search in and around the area for clues as to his whereabouts.

“I would urge anybody who has any information to please contact us either online or by calling 101, quoting reference number 43210168920.

“Any information that can help may be the key to ascertaining what has happened to Doug, and so please do get in touch.”

It looks like there is a sad end to this long-running case, with Thames Valley police reporting that a body, believed to be that of Doug, has been found.

Oh dear. It sadly seemed inevitable. His poor family have been through hell and whilst this isn’t the ending they will have hoped for, at least they will get him back.

Live updates as police cordon off large section of park in Tunbridge Wells
The article MsMiniSleuth shared shows a different location so are police searching these woods in Tunbridge Wells as well or is that an unrelated incident.

I see no one's answered your question yet. Doug Carroll was living in Tunbridge Wells at the time of his disappearance, but it was quickly established that he had driven to Berkshire and his car was found near Starveall/Compton. The deceased person thought to be him was found in woods near Moulsford in Oxfordshire, not far away.

Afaik, Kent Police have not yet made a statement about the activity on the outskirts of Tunbridge Wells yesterday, but it would not be related.
