How awful for her children. I'm sure the police have spoken to colleagues and analysed her phone for any clues already. I pray she left her things on purpose including the coat in the river to distract from her eventual location, and she's actually safe somewhere needing space but I fear the police are correct and she has entered the water. The most awful part for her family is that her other belongings including jewellery??!were found removed outside of the water. As though if she did enter the river it was not a accident. All the love to her family at this time.

Honestly, I think her leaving her belongings at the side was to ensure that she would be found - I think she wanted to ensure her family would have ‘closure’ in the end.

MOO of course.

isn't it just as likely the items were planted in an effort to throw off something else that may have happened? I've no idea, just that there has not been enough released to rule this out either IMO
Yes my opinion is the items have been left as a decoy. Her husband has declined to comment which is noteworthy.

I can’t get my head around her taking her rings off of all things. Unless she really was purposely leaving them for her children or similar. Even then though, it all seems a bit weird.

Timeline wise, I suppose if she was sighted at the park at 4pm it matches up her walking there to me (I couldn’t personally do the walk to wensum park from London street in 30 minutes mind! Especially if detouring around Anglia Square way).

It’s very sad and worrying to read she left unusually early from work though.

right - why did she leave early? so many possibilities. What do her co-workers say about why she may have left early. Did someone call her away? Was she fired? Suddenly depressed? Receive some bad news?
The police are saying ‘they can’t establish why she left work early’

Which suggests to me that she left without notifying colleagues - I think that takes away the fired part.

It’s such a confusing case

Hope she is found soon

''On Monday, about 10 police vehicles, a police drone and two search and rescue rigid inflatable boats (ribs) were seen scouring the area.

Officers are continuing to review CCTV and, on Tuesday, officers turned their attention to the water.''

"This is a significant operation in terms of searching both the park and the waterways... searching water is quite challenging.

"As of tomorrow we will have on-site specialist dive teams to support that operation."

''Timeline of events

  • Sunday Police announce Wensum Park is closed after more belongings, including jewellery, are found
  • Monday Specialist search teams use a drone and sonar equipment to scour the area but nothing is found
  • Tuesday Police turn their attention to underwater searches''

Gaynor Lord, 55, was spotted in Wensum park in Norwich on Friday evening, the witness said.

The previous last confirmed sighting was when she left the city centre department store where she worked. She never made it home.

A major search has been ongoing for five days with police divers called in after her coat was found in a river and her clothes, two rings, mobile phone and glasses were found nearby.

Witness Rosie Richards told the BBC that she spotted a woman matching Gaynor’s description in the park at around 4pm.

She said: "It's really upsetting... I'm just thinking of her friends and family, because she is a sort of similar age to my mum and that would be awful to be going through what they are going through right now. It's really upsetting."

On the CCTV when Gaynor is at the pedestrian crossing, she runs across the road while the lights are still on green, and the car on the opposite side of the road has to brake suddenly so as not to hit her.

She is definitely preoccupied with something.
