Two men came round and assaulted her fiancé and Helen didn't call the police? I don't think so.

Oliver Stewart tells prosecution he hadn't seen any cards in father's bedroom from Helen Bailey describing him as her fiance

Oliver Stewart says he had an indication from Facebook posts that his father and Helen Bailey planned to marry, and he was happy about it

And then, when Helen's body was discovered, it took IS five months to think that these two men might have been responsible.
If it were not so tragic it would be funny

Not even raised voices' between Stewart and Ms Bailey

Oliver said he could be wrong about his dad going for a haircut on April 11, 2016.

He said he’d never seen an argument between his dad or Helen, not even raised voices.

“The only time there was an atmosphere is when they couldn’t go on holiday they had planned because dad was due to have an operation, which was cancelled.”

Oliver said he was unaware of the couple being engaged, but said he was happy at the thought of them marrying. He said there weren’t any financial worries and the financial position of each of them was not a worry - in fact it was quite the opposite.

Oliver is now being cross-examined by the defence. He admits that Helen’s Jeep hadn’t been put into the garage until after April 15, 2016.

Oliver confirmed that at the time police first attended the Royston house, there was nothing covering up that manhole cover (to the cesspit) in the garage.

I wonder why Stewart didn't park it there before the police came. Didn't think of it till afterwards, I suppose.
Or was he not expecting the police to come to the house? Perhaps not.

Oliver Stewart tells prosecution that when his father was talking about Nick and Joe, he was "hinting" they had taken Helen Bailey..

...but that Oliver Stewart had concluded, formed an impression that these two men were involved in the taking of Helen Bailey...

I don't know if it's just because I live in smallish town but we have loads of hairdressers and none of them open on Mondays?

The Nick and Joe bald tattoo'd men story is beyond ridiculous...

No, I think that's quite common and almost traditional. It allows a two-day "weekend" as Saturdays are busy.
Does anyone remember when John Lewis stores used to be closed on Mondays?

As you say, I dont think IS expected a home visit .....and then when they did turn up, it sounds as though he didnt expect the level of thorough search that they undertook with dogs and forensics.

The police notes last week from the Pros said that their impression was that IS was surprised and not pleased with the level of search.

So no doubt he didnt expect them to go into the garage and look at a manhole cover.......... although, big mistake on the police part that they did not lift that cover if it was on view.

Two men 'had been dealt with'

On re-examination from the prosecution, Oliver said there was no direct discussion with his dad on how the two men - Nick and Joe - killed Helen Bailey.

Oliver said he was then told one of the men had been ‘dealt with’. He reiterated that up until this point, his dad hadn’t said anything about these two men.

“I discussed this with Jamie, but Jamie hasn’t seen dad at a visit yet. I’ve been visiting dad every Sunday, but the first time he mentioned the two men was in December 2016.

#helenbailey trial Ian Stewart son Oliver says dad implied 2 men "linked" to disappearance & one of them had been "dealt with"

Oliver Stewart tells court that before her body was found, his dad had given him an impression that Helen Bailey had simply gone missing..

Joe has been "dealt with"? By who, how, when?

Is this a TV crime drama we have slipped into here?

Well, I think IS has sealed his fate with this ridiculous story. Reminds me of Luka Magnotta and "Manny".

Milly, you just beat me to it .... I was going to ask when the movie was due out

I don't understand this. IS got his Zopiclone in January didn't he ? So he mentioned this odd couple in December = as part of his plan ? Or have I misunderstood

If Ian Stewart couldn't 'lift a dinner tray' then I doubt he'd be able to manhandle a double/kingsize duvet either then! ... or could he?

CCTV evidence at the refuse tip tells us that he did manage ok
