Redbridge Police are appealing for help in finding Ioannis Oikonomopoulos, of Greek descent, who has been missing from the Ilford area and has not been seen since February 18.
Ioannis Oikonomopoulos has been missing since the 18th of February 2020 from his home in Ilford, Greater London. Ioannis, a lifeguard from Patras, Greece, was living in London for the past year with his girlfriend.
The girlfriend upon returning back to the flat they shared discovered the door ajar, his belongings in place including his wallet and his mobile phone still charging. His breakfast plate was left in the oven. No trace of him could be found on neighboring CCTV cameras at the time of the disappearance.
Recent developments include CCTV footage discovered by the police where a man is shown walking by Eastern Avenue in Ilford, close to the place he was living, on the day of the disappearance, just after 2 o’clock in the afternoon. He appears to be missing one shoe and is wearing a distinctive jacket with the nr 13 on the sleeve, identical to a jacket owned by Ioannis. Ioannis relatives and his girlfriend believe it is him.

Help us find Ioannis Oikonomopoulos
Too many details in this article don't sit right, imo. I wonder if LE spoke to the g/f again now that some time has passed. She might have new memories that'll help shed light on the days/moments prior to Ioannis becoming a missing man. How certain is LE about whether that is Ioannis in the video? Have any official or unofficial searches ever been conducted? An update would be nice. I've got Ioannis and his loved ones in my prayers.
