Police investigating the disappearance of Jamie Cannon in Saltcoats have issued a fresh appeal for witnesses.

It comes four weeks on from the day the 19-year-old vanished after last being seen on Thursday, May 20 on the seaside town's Kinnier Road around 10am.

He has not been seen or heard from since which police say is very out of character.

Inspector Alison Wilson of Saltcoats police office said: “We would like to thank the public for the tremendous support they have given so far.

"It is obvious from the response we have had that there is great concern in the community for Jamie’s wellbeing.

"As our search continues, we ask that if you were in Saltcoats at the time Jamie went missing and you think you might know something that would be of interest to our enquiry, please tell us.

"Jamie is described as being 6ft 1in tall, with short dark hair. When he was last seen he was wearing grey jogging bottoms, grey trainers, a blue jacket and was carrying a camouflage backpack.

"If you are reading this appeal Jamie, please make contact with police or your family and friends to let them know you are safe and well, everyone remains greatly concerned and anxious about you."

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting incident number 1623 of 22 May.

A Scots teen dad-to-be has been missing for over two weeks leaving his family 'extremely distressed'.

Jamie Cannon vanished from his home in Saltcoats after being last seen on May 20th at around 10am on Kinnier Road.

Police said it was 'completely out of character' for 19-year-old tot not be in contact with his friends and family.

Jamie has never been missing before sparking concern as detectives frantically search for the teenager.

Local officers have been assisted by specialist officers, including search advisors and the dog unit, but there have been no further sightings of him.

Sergeant Allen Dodds said: “Despite previous appeals and extensive searches and enquiries to trace Jamie, we have been unable to locate him.

"As time goes on, we are extremely concerned as he has never been missing before and it is entirely out of character for him not to keep in contact with his family and friends."

A FRANTIC mum has pleaded "we just want him home" as the search for her missing son enters its 27th day.

Jamie Cannon, 19, vanished from Kinnier Road in Saltcoats, Ayrshire on Thursday, May 20.

His frantic mum Lynne said: "We love and miss him so much and just want Jamie home."

Jamie is described as being 6ft1in tall, and was wearing grey jogging bottoms, grey trainers, a blue jacket and carrying a camouflage back pack.

Police investigating the disappearance of Jamie Cannon in Saltcoats have issued a fresh appeal for witnesses to come forward four weeks from when he was last seen.

The distraught family of missing Scots teen Jamie Cannon are ‘putting life on hold’ until he is found.

The 19-year-old suddenly disappeared on his way to college almost five weeks ago sparking a frantic police search in Saltcoats.

Jamie was last seen on Thursday, May 20 on the seaside town's Kinnier Road around 10am.

Now his heartbroken family have been left confused over Jamie's disappearance saying ‘people can’t just vanish, he has to be somewhere’.

His devastated cousin Leeanne Graham, 37, from Erskine told the Daily Record: “It is just devastating for us all not knowing what has happened to him.

“It is so out of character for him to go missing. He is normally so loud, bubbly, and friendly so he never shies away. This is so unlike him.

“His mum is distraught it is so heartbreaking watching her trying to find her son every day.

“We are doing our own searches and police are out looking as well but we don’t know anything yet.

“It is just mind boggling, people can’t just vanish, he has to be somewhere but there have been no sightings.

“His two wee brothers are also really missing him he just want him back.

“Please come home Jamie you aren’t in any trouble please let us know you are okay.

“We miss you so much.”

A FRESH appeal has been launched to help find a missing teen who disappeared from an Ayrshire town over a month ago.

Jamie Cannon, 19, from Saltcoats was seen at Kerr Avenue at around 10.26am on May 20 in the town.

A further sighting of Jamie was reported at around 10.40am the same day on Auchenharvie Golf Course in Stevenston.

Cops are now urging residents in Saltcoats and Stevenston to check sheds and outbuildings in efforts to trace the teen.

Inspector Alison Wilson of Saltcoats Police Office said:“As time goes by we are increasingly concerned for the welfare of Jamie. We are urging residents to check any sheds or outbuildings that they have for signs that Jamie may have taken shelter there.

“We are extremely grateful to members of the public who have assisted us already. We remain committed to utilising all resources available to us, in conjunction with the tremendous effort from the local community, to locate him. If you have seen him then please contact us without hesitation."

A plea to search sheds and outbuildings for any trace of missing teenager Jamie Cannon has been issued six weeks on from when he was last seen.

The 19-year-old vanished from his hometown of Saltcoats on Thursday, May 20.

He was last seen on Kerr Avenue at 10.26am, before being spotted at 10.40am the same day at Auchenharvie Golf Course, Stevenston, just under a mile away.

Jamie’s cousin Leeanne Graham said the college student who was studying brick-laying had never disappeared before.

“It’s been six weeks of hell not knowing anything. His mum and dad and two brothers just want him home. All the family have been out every day to look for Jamie putting posters, banners everywhere,” she told STV News.

Police said they were becoming “increasingly concerned” for Jamie’s welfare whose disappearance is “completely out of character”.

On Thursday, July 1, 42 days after Jamie went missing, police urged the public to check any sheds or outbuildings they have for signs that Jamie may have taken shelter there.

Police and members of the public have conducted widespread searches across nearby areas and further afield, including Paisley.
