''StokeonTrentLive understands that Joyce had lived in the property with her husband for a number of years. But he died more than a decade ago and Karen and her partner have lived at the property for almost a decade.

Staffordshire Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses following the tragedy. Anyone with any information which could assist the double murder probe should call the police on 101, quoting incident number 340 of December 31, or call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.''

I saw this case on the news today - once I heard a 68 year old had been arrested I thought this was a straight forward double murder case.

However, him being released pending further investigation suggests it’s not so clear what happened.

I wonder if it’s a possible murder suicide or suicide pact situation all moo of course.

Oh goodness - it sounds that I was probably right regarding a murder suicide.

I feel sorry for the 68 year old man whom I believe was Karen’s husband - in a time of immense sadness and grieving he’s been having to fight for his innocence.

I hope he now gets to grieve in peace.
