In my opinion I see an older slightly bigger male walking up a path in the coppice, followed by a younger, slighter, smaller male who is pushing a flimsy looking trolley, it's not that clear but almost looks like what youd move docs around an office in. They reach a point and the older man turns to the left and crouches, almost like hes moving something in a hedge. Or moving a hedge out of the way maybe, it's very odd. Then the drone moves away. Not what you'd expect to see up there at all.

I'm not sure of the exact location but might go up and see if I can find the same spot.

It's completely impossible to positively the defendant from that footage. Its 2 people walking with what appears to be a sack barrow/fishing trolley.

The quality wasn’t the best but I believe it was captured at 4.55 the same day. Looks like the 2 men have just committed the murder, they hav a trolly possibly to move her and also what looks like a large bag. At the end of the footage there is something in the middle of the field, can’t work out of its a person or not. Why would anyone be in the middle of a wooded area with a trolly?? IMO

I am going for Friday at the earliest with Judge allowing a majority verdict

I think we may get a verdict before the day is out, and yes I am usually wrong with estimates also.

It looks like the back of the houses further up on Burnley road, if they carried on walking up they would reach the bypass at the top of Burnley road.

I spent some time thinking through everything before I finally made a decision and our own poll shows people have different opinions so I am not expecting a verdict until the middle of next week.

Defendant or not its certainly something the police should look into

Following a nights sleep ...I'm now thinking they will find him guilty...I think mainly because they "think" its likely him ...not sure that's the best reason to reach a verdict though

Much prefer your estimate to mine - I dislike the waiting part and always feel for the family and friends the longer it goes on

If i remember right this video was never pursued because it was thought to be 2 homeless people that where living in a tent behind that way. A tent was actually found but nothing found in the actual tent. They had been staying around there and the coppice for a while. I think they were also known to the police.

To me these are just not hard cold facts. I also heard off someone I trust that the trial was stopped because they had found a phone with a confession on. Again, the police havent followed it up and that goes for this drone footage. They would of pursued the 2 males and found the trolley etc.

From my own experience on a jury, with a less complicated case complete, it took around 2 days so i'm thinking Friday tbh, but I am hoping to be surprised so this is all over for the family.

was that discredited? Can’t remember if it was a MSM video

I was told the drone footage has very recently been found as it wasn’t the time frame police told people to check for (4-4.30) so I’ve been told. As for the homeless they wasn’t sleeping in this area the drone was filmed, I personally know one of the homeless men and that’s not him on the footage.

Hello everyone and welcome to Preston Crown Court

This could be the final day in the Lindsay Birbeck murder retrial with the jury set to retire this morning to consider their verdicts.


Today is also a very poignant day for the family of Lindsay Birbeck.

It was exactly 12 months ago - August 12, 2019 - when the mum-of-two went missing and was killed in the area of the Coppice.
