Statement being read from Shane's mother
A statement is being read from Shane's mother, in which she said that Shane arrived at her house on the afternoon of May 8.

He told her that he had walked Louise to Emsworth, and was hot and sweaty when he arrived at the house.

Shane's mother had never met Louise but knew she was living with her son and CJ. She did know Louise was missing, though.

She said it "surprised" her when the police came round to take a statement from her about her son.

Another statement from Shane's sister
Mr Newton-Price QC has also read aloud a statement from Tia Rawlinson, who is Shane's sister.

She also said that Shane had arrived at their mother's house on the afternoon of May 8.

Describing him as "hot and sweaty in the face", she said that her brother did not stay for long.

Tia said in her statement that it was normal for Shane to pop in for 15 minutes or so and then leave again.

Like he told his mother, Shane also told Tia that he had dropped Louise off in Emsworth earlier that day.

Tia had also never met Louise nor spoken to her, but knew she was living with Shane and CJ.

She met up with her brother after he was first arrested for kidnap, but nothing was discussed about Louise, she said.

Lunch break now taken
After reading those statements, Mr Newton-Price and Mrs Justice May DBE agreed that it would be a good time to take the lunch break.

Louise reported missing at 6.32pm
Louise was reported missing by her aunt, CJ Mays, at 6.32pm on May 8.

Shane was seen on CCTV walking south on Somborne Drive at 9pm, and then walking back home at 9.35pm.

Police attended Ringwood House at around 1am on May 9, and Shane was there.

The next morning, Shane was again seen leaving Ringwood House at around 9am and walking south down Somborne Drive.

He was seen returning at 2.08pm that same day.

14:30
Reiterated point about there being no CCTV if taking a certain route out of Ringwood House
Mr Newton-Price QC has asked DC Way to confirm that a certain route out of Ringwood House to the north would not show up on CCTV.

14:31
Officer evidence ended for now
DC Way has stood down from giving evidence for now, but Mr Newton-Price QC said that she will be recalled at another point.

We are now moving onto mobile phone data analysis, and an expert has been called as a witness.

Louise's phone was in Ringwood House area just before 1pm
The expert has said that a Snapchat indication provided detail that Louise's mobile phone was in the Ringwood House area at 12.49pm.

14:51
Jury being talked through when Louise's phone was picked up by masts
The jury is being talked through when Louise's phone was picked up by various masts around the area.

The expert explained that data sessions and other markings on masts can be picked up without any human prompt, essentially being done automatically by the phone.

As was mentioned in the opening by Mr Newton-Price QC, Louise's phone was picked up by five different masts after 3pm.

Those masts do not cover the Ringwood House area but do cover the Havant Thicket area.

14:55
Louise's phone was last connected at 5.01pm
Evidence from mobile phone analysis showed that Louise's phone was last connected to a mast at 5.01pm on May 8.

The connection was then terminated, which the expert said can be caused either by the phone running out of battery or being turned off.

Did the phone masts cover Emsworth skate park area?
The expert confirmed that of the masts that Louise's phone connected to on May 8, none of them cover the Emsworth skate park area.

That is where Shane Mays first told family members and police he had taken Louise on the afternoon of May 8.

15:03KEY EVENT
Proceedings brought to a close for the day
At the end of that mobile phone analysis evidence, Mrs Justice May DBE decides that proceedings will be brought to a close for the day.
