"Police have cordoned off a street with officers stationed outside a house in the village of Banks, about three miles from the stabbing incident.

It is not yet clear if the two incidents are linked, PA Media reported.

Two police cars are stationed on Old School Close, with more police vehicles and officers behind the cordon.

Locals said Matrix police, the armed unit of Merseyside Police, descended on the address shortly after the incident in Southport."

That is another idea to consider. So far, here are some possible motives:

* Domestic - target was a teacher and/or child personally known to the perp, and others were attacked in the process.

* Incel attacking a place where women and girls gather.

* Someone who didn't approve of the class specifically - girls dancing to Taylor Swift.

* Someone who didn't approve of services the center offered.

* Someone seeking attention from a celebrity and/or attention from the world because Taylor Swift's name is associated.

* Homicidal maniac who chose easy targets.

* Creep who was stalking little girls in general or a girl in this class.

Anything else to toss on the table while we await more info?

I'm wondering if he timed it so he could be there without being so out of place - lots of activity in and out of a building at class dismissal and he could wreck havoc easier?

Or, it was just the time he happened to arrive and means nothing.

I am wondering if he knew someone in the class - a relative, neighbor, etc? Or if he had been watching the center in general to stalk girls - and he knew when they were let out of class.

I'm getting a stalker of young girls vibe at this point, an opinion subject to change as we learn more.

Chief constable Serena Kennedy told a press conference this evening that the two adults in critical condition were understood to have sustained injuries while trying to protect the children.

She said:

We believe that the adults who were injured were bravely trying to protect the children who were being attacked."
