as much as i love martin brunt i neva get a good feeling when hes put on the case..

they asked if they thought he had left the country and police didnt want to go into that

strange thats not a straight forward " we dont believe so"

"The timing of the sighting has been confirmed by CCTV but the identity of the child remains unclear.

The boy was running down West Pilton Gardens towards the coast - about half a mile from Mikaeel's home.

Police say he appears to be unaccompanied and is wearing a cap.

They want to speak to anyone who saw the boy or who thinks it may be their child to eliminate the sighting from their inquiries.

Hundreds of people have joined in the search for missing Mikaeel as police said they are becoming increasingly concerned.

An army of volunteers have braved the wet and cold to sign up and help officers comb the streets in search of the boy.

Police admitted this morning they are 'deeply concerned' for his welfare after having received no confirmed sightings of the boy since they launched an investigation more than 40 hours ago.

Well why don't they show the video and say ' if this is YOUR child, please let us know , so we can rule every other kid in town besides Mikaeel?

Respiratory infections lasting that long in a young child can be serious. I am surprised he wasn't in hospital.

I won't be surprised to hear Mikaeel didn't even visit a doctor with this illness though.

So highly unlikely he'd have been able to walk half a mile to where the potential sighting was yesterday? And even less likely to have been "running down the road", as has been said with regard to the child on the cctv?

I'm really thinking the police are just trying to rule that sighting out, rather than in, if he was as poorly as it seems.

There may be privacy concerns if they posted a pic of somebody else's child. Considering the size of this investigation, if they posted a pic of another child the image would be on the internet forever.

According to the Flora Stevenson Primary school website, term ended on the 19th December and resumed on the 7th January.

It would be good to know when the last time he was seen. My daughters best friend from School has Pakistani parents. this particular wee girl and a few other kids of Pakistani origins finished School early at Christmas to visit family in Pakistan. I'm not saying that's whats happened here just hoping he's somewhere safe

He would need a passport to travel abroad. We can assume LE has looked into it

Yeah at the press conference this morning the Police said that they don't know if he's previously travelled out with the Country or if he has a passport. I am sure they will know of he has a passport as it's easy enough for them to find out.
