ANNIVERSARY APPEAL - NATALIE PUTT
Natalie Putt was only 17yrs old when she left her home in Lower Gornal, Dudley to go to a local shop on 1 September 2003. She had just put her son down to sleep and left the 11 week old with his father and has never been seen again.
Natalie was born in Aberystwyth and grew up in Machynlleth a beautiful picturesque village in North Wales. Her mum and dad knew Coral, April Jones’ mother. Natalie went to live with her father in Machynlleth and moved to the West Midlands with him in 1995. Her mother died suddenly three months later, heartbroken, never knowing what happened to her precious daughter. She travelled back to her Welsh homeland for visits on a regular basis.
In 2004, an 18yr old male was arrested on suspicion of her murder, but was later released without charge.
In June 2017, the case took a very dire twist when someone called in from a phone box implying Natalie could be buried in Ruiton Cemetery in Upper Gornal. This led West Midlands to exhume graves, but nothing of significance was found. After a sign of life appraisal, they elevated Natalie’s case to a murder enquiry. Police believe that at least two people know what led them to the site and have appealed for them to come forward.
In September 2017, new credible intelligence led the police conduct an extensive search in Ellowes Hall Wood, Lower Gornal near Natalie’s home at the time. After an agonising wait, her family were informed nothing relating to her was found. However, detectives disclosed further information from various corroborated sources has given to them with more areas to search in the future.
In January 2019, an inquest was held and the coroner ruled that Natalie had probably died in her home or nearby on the day she disappeared.
