If I am not mistaken I think he had offered his services for free.Probably to do with budget issues. JMO
Also, sometimes when a person reaches down to tie their shoes or pick something up, there can be a sense of lightheadedness when going upright. Especially if one has high blood pressure or similar. She was a swimmer, for her to fall in and not be able to make it back to land (regardless of what she was wearing, I personally don't think the clothing is burdensome), she would have to have hit her head and be rendered 'unconscious'. The river area where the bench is doesn't look too deep, although I believe their is an 'undercurrent'.
Just to add, there is also a possibility that a health emergency could have taken place that rendered her 'unconscious', ending up in the water.
IMO, police are not going to expend the amount of resources they have used in the search for Nicole as some sort of ruse or some elaborate charade to draw out anybody. Not only would it be incredibly financially irresponsible, it would also put every searcher at risk. For a ruse. With the police publicly showing their intention to use technology to find her whereabouts from the Fitbit watch.. ( which I would’ve thought was the first thing they’d do) alongside stating their belief she is in the river.. are they being clever in trying to squeeze the perpetrator to visit ?
Can’t help but feel the police are trying to manipulate any perpetrator. If I were the police I would think ‘if she’s in the river we can’t do anything except get the search for her body in process. But if she was taken, we need to play our cards carefully and look as if our belief is that she is in the river. So that we can watch our prime suspects very carefully whilst not revealing them,
Im positive this is why they’ve tried do hard to push the river accident theory. To put any perpetrator into a more relaxed frame of mind.
I think this specialized team should have been brought in earlier on, when the other divers came up empty, and perhaps saved alot of stress of the 'not knowing' for the family. IMO.In my opinion it's very confusing if they refused help from specialist diving officers given their main theory was that NB had fallen in the river.

3. Long green walking socks tucked into her jeans - this was correct, albeit I did spend a few minutes thinking about if it is normal English to say the socks were tucked into her jeans. (If a shirt is tucked into your jeans it is under it. This is how I always imagine these relations. Now socks are just always under the jeans, I would not call that tucked. But maybe they do? Or did they mean that the jeans are tucked into the socks? But I assume it is not confusing to a native speaker.)
EXACTLYWhat does the sun think the other divers were, if not specialists?
I really hope this new crew are able to find something, however considering Lancs police have said they've already done side scanning sonar, I'm just not sure what else this new crew offer that the others didn't? Maybe someone could explain?
I find the apparently misleading description of the clothing concerning. It could be construed as lack of attention to detail, which does not inspire confidence. JMOI do think the inaccurate description of the length of the gilet is unfortunate. So if someone said someone was wearing an ankle length skirt, I imagine a full length, maxi type skirt as opposed to a knee length skirt. It conjures up a very different image in my head. Given that her clothing was dark and quite unremarkable, as opposed to , for example, a red or yellow coat, I think it is a shame the description was misleading. JMO
Do you have a link for that, please?I believe it to very similar to what they already have. Theirs however operates at a higher frequency and with the specialist operators for this specific type of unit it can yield far better results
My husband just said that if I went missing he'd be hard pressed to describe what I was wearing, whereas I'm the opposite and always recall people's outfits.I am upset with the cctv of her not being released earlier or by the police. The description was not the best.
1. An ankle-length black quilted gilet jacket and a black Engelbert Strauss waist-length coat which was worn underneath the gilet - the coat on the cctv is clearly not ankle length nor waist-length. It is like basically the only length they did not mention.
2. Tight-fitting black jeans - turns out they were dark blue leggings instead
4. Ankle-length green Next wellies - technically, these are also wellies. It might not be the first that pops to head with "ankle wellies", but I can live with that.
5. A necklace - seriously? Gold? Silver? Pearl? Leather? Pedant? Nothing about this at all? Why mention it then?
6. A pale blue Fitbit - this is ok, they can look different and it could help, but I suppose pale blue is rare by itself and hopefully any fitbit found would be taken to the police or posted online anyways.
Tl;dr: they got the socks, wellies and fitbit right, the rest was off. An image would have helped. My own mental image was notably different from the cctv image. For those who say that the colours in the cctv were off and that's why they did not release it: it would take me like 20 seconds to fix the colours on the computer. Maybe 60 seconds if I want to boost the green of these wellies separately a bit.
Other than that, I hope her body is recovered during the next week. As it is right now, I have a hard time seeing anything else than her entering the river without a third party. I am usually suspicious of those closest to the victim, but as witnesses did see her on the trail in the morning, I see no opportunity for anyone like that to harm her.
Agree. We don't know where that description originated from, however.I find the apparently misleading description of the clothing concerning. It could be construed as lack of attention to detail, which does not inspire confidence. JMO
I don’t not think the person who found the phone/dog would be a suspect, but thought it odd they did not instantly raise the alarm but went to an appointment first, unless they thought someone may have popped into the bushes for a pee and did not want to cause embarrassment, I can’t see how it would not be a situation where one would automatically raise the alarm.I would still confirmation of what NB was holding as confirmed by the dog Waller/witness she was alleged to have interacted with. The description of what she was wearing was completely incorrect and she didn’t appear to have green ankle wellies either. I think if you are expecting to join a teams call whilst walking a dog you would wear ear phones even if not expecting to speak. This is very different to talking on a phone perhaps socially Where you would have it on speaker.
Hoping they revisit the person who was alleged to have found her phone and their specific actions after finding Willow. <modsnip>
My guess would be NB'S partner. None of the witnesses would know she was wearing a jacket under the gilet imo.Agree. We don't know where that description originated from, however.
They offered their services free of charge.Probably to do with budget issues. JMO
Yes, definitely that sort of thing….I was thinking the exact same thing earlier. I was thinking more with the idea in mind that they think she has been kidnapped and they don’t want the perp to go into panic mode
Thanks for clarifying that. They offered their services free of charge.
I didn’t mean they’re searching as some sort of ruse. The river accident remains a possibility and there’s a good chance she may have been in there.. but if there is a percentage likelihood of foul play then they also have to cater for that. Therefore all searches and courses of action are required.IMO, police are not going to expend the amount of resources they have used in the search for Nicole as some sort of ruse or some elaborate charade to draw out anybody. Not only would it be incredibly financially irresponsible, it would also put every searcher at risk. For a ruse.
