My son got back from London last week. He said he was on this bridge a bit more than a week ago, also on the bridge where the earlier attack took place. He said there are NO traffic barriers set up on either bridge! You'd think authorities would have done that at least on the other bridge but apparently not.

This is not confirmed , just his recollection. If so what are they thinking? Don't scare the tourists, what??

I have no idea why there are no barriers up on the bridges to at least try and prevent these tragedies I hope it isn't a cost issue.

Possible controlled explosions going on from journalists on twitter - sky news is reporting this.

I wonder if this will delay the election which is meant to be on Thursday. Politicians now won't be able to campaign for a few days out of respect and campaigning isn't allowed the day before an election.

I think the election is going to be delayed. There is only three days of campaigning left and I can't see any politician campaigning for a few days out of respect.

My parents, aunts, uncles and cousins were all in the bar that was stormed and locked down, thankfully safe, but my dad told me that when they were allowed out he saw at least 3 people on the ground, seriously wounded/dead

Sun reporter Ben Leo arrived at the scene minutes after and spotted at least six people motionless on the pavement.

He said: “One woman was frantically being attended to but she was lying in a massive pool of blood, absolutely still. It looked like her throat had been cut.

“I turned to my left and saw two more men with mangled legs — again lying motionless on the pavement. Just at the bottom of London Bridge was the van, which looked like it crashed into a lamppost.

Days from now, we will know their names. We will hear from those who knew them about how they became radicalized. We will hear from fellow members of their mosques who will talk about how some of them were talking up this stuff. What we will not hear probably will be that any of their Imams or coreligionists went to the authorities. They seldom do. They cover up for one another. I recall hearing about the Manchester bomber's friends talk about how he was in a group in his mosque supporting ISIS. Nobody apparently felt compelled to report them. It goes on and on.

I firmly believe most Muslims are decent honest people <mod snip> They need to stop tolerating this cancer in their religion.

I think there may be a chance that police may have accidentally shot innocent bystanders as well in the chaos.
