Viv Update - This Sunday 4th June 11am
As most of you now know, Viv went missing on Sunday 21st May while out walking, in the mountains of Neath Port Talbot.

Viv's daughter: "I personally feel a bubble of love around me at this time. The family are so grateful."

With this in mind it has been suggested that we spiritually or physically come together for a moment of quiet reflection, meditation or prayer; depending on your faith, belief system or personal practice.

When? - Sunday 4th June at 11am to mark the 2 weeks that Viv has been missing.

What time? - 11am on Sunday

Where? - Have a few moments in either your home, work or in your community or church, to reflect on Viv and his family during this difficult time.

Viv is believed to have been walking his mountain at 11am Sunday 21st May

Vivian Davies, 87 years old is a keen walker and is known to walk 10 miles a day. He is passionate about keeping his body moving, as we have seen in his video and is well known in the community.

Extensive searching has been undertaken, driven by Charlotte Galsworthy and supported by South Wales Police Swansea and Neath Port Talbot with coverage from WalesOnline and the BBC Wales News.

1000+ people have been, and some are still, out searching the mountain and have been supported by Western Mountain Rescue, South Wales Police Search & Rescue, Helicopter Pilots, Horses and their Riders, Police Dogs, Drone Operators, Mountain Bikers and Motorbikers.

The support and love from the social media users who are unable to physically search, has helped share this difficult message BUT we are seeing a really large number of people who feel helpless and want to do something. They are praying or willing Viv to be found and the family to find some comfort.

Reflecting, meditating or praying on him and his family, either alone or in your group, we will be together in those moments.

If you feel this is a good idea and something you would like to take part in please share with your place of worship, groups, communities or families.

RIP Vivian

A body has been found in the search for an elderly man missing for more than five weeks. Vivian Davies was last seen on Sunday, May 21, after going out for a walk in the Cwmafan area of Port Talbot. After weeks of searching, including several searches organised by members of the public, South Wales Police confirmed on Wednesday, June 28, that a man's body had been found.

The 87-year-old was last seen on Maes Ty Canol, Baglan and it was thought he may have walked to the Mynydd Dinas area or the Jersey Park "incline". Police said that specialist search team officers found a body in a remote area of Cwmafan on Wednesday afternoon.

While formal identification has yet to take place a police spokesman said Mr Davies' family have been informed. Family members have been sharing the update on social media.

South Wales Police chief inspector James Ratti said: “I would like to thank all those who gave up their time to come out and help with the search for Vivian and to those that called in with information. It was a testament to the community of Neath Port Talbot and I’m sure their thoughts, along with ours, are with Vivian’s family at this time.”
