BUTLER, PENNSYLVANIA – JULY 13:
Shortly after former President Donald Trump took the stage at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, at 6 p.m., several loud pops could be heard, and Trump was whisked off the stage.

Multiple reports suggested the noises were gunshots, and video from the incident appeared to show Trump reacting to something hitting his ear.
The event was to be his final campaign rally before he formally accepts the Republican Party’s 2024 presidential nomination at next week’s Republican National Convention.

“The Secret Service has implemented protective measures and the former President is safe. This is now an active Secret Service investigation and further information will be released when available,” Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi posted on social media.

Yeah, he grabs at his ear and looks down at his hand like something is on it. Im willing to bet he was grazed by a bullet

A former Trump campaign advisor says on CNN that someone he spoke to said it sounded like a small caliber weapon, and that at least two other people had been hit, including someone shot in the head.

It sounded like a 22 to me, which would be the easiest type of weapon to sneak in.

It’s tough to tell based on the location on the microphones though, so who knows.

I am wondering how someone was allowed near the presidential candidate with a gun??? I expect security to be tight at these events.

His agents had created a shield around him with their own bodies and had him covered completely as they were moving him off the stage. I am surprised he broke the shield of his agents to show his face.
Yes, that looked dangerous. His head was clearly visible. I didn't like the way he was removed from the stage.

The dead person may in fact be the shooter, so there may be no innocent fatalities.
Good point.

By that point they had gotten word that the shooter was down. If you catch the whole thing, you’ll hear the agents communicating with one another courtesy of the podium microphone.

But if they didn't know about the shooter, how could be sure there wasn't another? But, he did make it off safely so it's a moot point anyway. Just looked like they allowed him to be in a vulnerable position during a chaotic situation.
