It always bothered me in every article the police would state he was 'not a suspect'. Why not? She went to the police. He had a record. He was harrasing her. He had an alias.

My prayers are with her kids and family. :(

My guess... he was a suspect but they didn't want to let him know
he was because of their fear he would hurt her.

This is such a sad outcome.

Missing woman found dead in Missouri

The body of a Salt Lake woman reported missing late last week, who had received threats by her ex-boyfriend, was found dead Monday night in Branson, Mo.
The body of Deborah Jones, 50, was found in her missing gray Volkswagen Passat outside a motel late Monday night, said Salt Lake Police Chief Chris Burbank.

Inside the motel, police found Jones' former live-in boyfriend, Michael Jerome Doyel, 47, and a second woman, Patricia Murray, 59, of West Valley City, who had also been missing for a couple of days.

"Branson police said Doyel and Murray are in custody at the request of Salt Lake City police. Doyel is 47 and Murray is 59. Salt Lake City police said earlier that Doyel and Murray are boyfriend-girlfriend. News reports in Salt Lake City this weekend said Murray was 20 but that appears to be wrong. Police say Murray appears to have the mental capacity of a 20-year-old."

What does that mean? That Murray has the capacity of an.....adult? Ok, don't most of us? I've heard adults being classified as having the mental capacity of a child. But not that an adult has the mental capacity of an adult.

I was thinking the same thing. A 50-something acting like a 20-something. Big deal. You can see that at any given bar on any given night. What does that have to do with anything? If she had the mental capacity of a 10 year old say... that is something different. 20? I have met some pretty responsible and intelligent 20 year olds. Not sure what they were trying to say... and did not do a very good job doing it.
 
Looks like he had a reason to keep her quiet... she was on to him.

"Deborah Jones ended her relationship with Michael Doyel a couple weeks ago. She had enough concerns about him that she turned to police. Salt Lake City Police Chief Chris Burbank said, " "There was some harassing phone calls that had taken place, and again she felt that there was some sort of fraud, credit cards used improperly, that sort of thing that she reported to our detectives."

That's exactly what I was thinking. If that's a handicap well then there are alot out there.
 
Here is some info about Murray and how the couple was tracked to Mo. This guy is a creepy dude. He was hitting on other residents where Murray lived.

Another resident of the senior living apartments says she saw him many times working on the computer in the clubhouse and talking on the cell phone. In fact, she claims he even came onto her before asking about her personal finances.

Mary Anne Griess says "He told me that he would like to go out with me and get to know me better and he asked me what kind of guys I liked to date and be with.

It was a phone call from a suspicious neighbor that tipped police off to the fact Patricia was missing and may be with Michael Doyel.

In fact, police were in the parking lot of Patricia’s apartment complex Monday night when Patricia’s best friend got a phone call.

Patricia was on a cell phone in Branson, Missouri. She said she was sitting on the bed in a motel room and that she was okay. (more at link)

1) where are the getting the info that she has the capacity of a 20 year old?
2) Secondly she went to the Police to file fraud charges apparently, although there were harassing calls and visits- again I say what happened hear- did they run a criminal check? This is haunting me- she was stuffed in the trunk for Chri** sake-

Actually the one that's mentally challenged is another gf this guy picked up and drove to Mo., with Deborah stuffed into a plastic container in the backseat the entire time.

LE is still being vague about the details saying there still is an investigation. Don't they know we want answers?!!!
 
This is a very strange story. Her ex and his new girlfriend (60 year old mentally challenged woman who lived in a nursing home) were arrested but we still don't know if there is a homicide.

Branson police chief: Missing SLC woman likely dead when transported to Missouri

Deborah Jones' friends said they knew she was in trouble long before her body was found Monday night in Missouri in a plastic container in her car, apparently driven there by her ex-boyfriend.
"Is it . . . a one-in-a-million coincidence that she just disappears when this guy is giving her threats?" asked Janet Tennison, who described 50-year-old Jones as one of her closest friends.

He now is being held by Branson police, along with Patricia C. Murray, 60, of West Valley City - whom he is accused of kidnapping. The pair were taken into custody in a motel room at the time Jones' body was discovered.
Murray was seen leaving her home at an assisted living care center Friday, according to court documents filed today. A legal guardian said California courts have ruled Murray incompetent to care for herself, and the guardian did not give Doyel permission to take Murray from the care center, the documents state.
On Monday, Murray called an acquaintance and left voice mail indicating she was with Doyel en route to Las Vegas; Doyel could be heard in the background, the documents state. Doyel was charged with second-degree felony kidnapping in Murray's removal from the home.
