Hadn't seen this case until this weekend, but it's kept me awake at night--those glasses and that little grin just kill me. I'm not always impressed with law enforcement, but I want to hug the prosecutor for this one.
Something I didn't see anyone mention is what Stephanie said about substance use in her phone interview with ABC 4's Kelli O'Hara. It's not in the article, but you can hear it in the recording of the call (see video to right of text).
"I'll be honest with everybody out there, the fact of the matter is that I was under the influence of a lot of drugs ... made me say a lot of things that I probably shouldn't have."
I disagree with her that it in any way reduces culpability, but there was speculation about drug involvement earlier in the threads, and this is the closest I've seen to confirmation of that.
