No, it is not plausible. Anytime mental gymnastics are involved in a theory, it is most likely not what happened. It sound like a movie plot and not real life. Besides, do we really need to give defense attorneys ideas to work with?

MOO
The most logical path for his defense is accidental death and panicked coverup.
He will have a coached story of what happened between 3am picking ML up and 5am.

Hi Pommy, could you please add the teclipse info, tia.

You rock!

I asked that question... I said "it only takes 11 minutes" and not that " it only took 11 minutes"... I don't know how long it took ML's ride. The reason i wondered what happened in between was because someone posted an article that said ML texted her mother at 1 am and that ML was seen leaving the airport at 2 am. I guess the media can say whatever they want...
I'm sorry but i don't know how to insert a screenshot.

But don't forget texting Mom at 1-Am PST = 2-AM MST

(Calif vs Utah are different time zones).

Many thanks to PommyMommy and Wary for helping all of us (especially me) with timeline issues.

KittyBunny, I'm intrigued with your theories about how he got KL to meet him at that park. Other theories have been darker, yours are very interesting. If she was looking for someone to hang with that night (a friendzone person), and she chose AJ, then she must have viewed him as a friend. He may have had a pattern of befriending young women as part of his overall plan to lure them to his house. The part about him possibly commiserating (the way Cluster B people do) is very intriguing. It would be interesting to know how he presented himself in general (brotherly? religious? good Mormon?)

My mind went to "he disabled the door handle" on her side, but then I realized that was a poor hypothesis (he would have had to force her into his house, in that case, and there would have been a struggle, that doesn't appear to have happened). Somehow, she went to his house without screaming or struggling. I suppose it's possible he incapacitated her in the car, but until there's charges relating to that (kidnapping), that seems unlikely to me.

I believe your schedule off about an hour because SLC is on MST, and this is the latest timeline:

Monday, June 17, 2:09 a.m. — Lueck departs [deplanes] flight from California. It takes about a half-hour for her to get off the plane and arrive at baggage claim.

Monday, June 17, 2:40 a.m.Lueck gets into a Lyft.

Monday, June 17, about 3 a.m.Lueck seen for the last time when the Lyft driver drops her off at Hatch Park, 50 Center St., North Salt La

Thursday, June 20, 4 p.m. — Family notifies police that Lueck had not been heard from since Sunday night.

Friday, Saturday, June 21-22 Friends and family of Lueck spread word of her disappearance by handing out flyers around Salt Lake City.

Sunday, June 23 — Lueck misses a flight back to California to attend a friend’s wedding.

Monday, June 24Police make plea for anyone who last saw Lueck to contact them. Investigators don’t yet know if Lueck was in trouble or trying not to be found.

Tuesday, June 25 — Police release the last-known footage of Lueck rolling a suitcase from baggage claim.
Tuesday, July 2

— Police begin search of a home on Salt Lake City’s northwest side. The house in the Fairpark neighborhood and its occupants had “a nexus to the case,” said Salt Lake Assistant Police Chief Tim Doubt. Police leave scene with bags and boxes of evidence, including human tissue.

Thursday, June 27 — Police declare owner of the home at the Fairpark neighborhood a person of interest in Lueck’s disappearance.

Friday, June 28, 9:20 a.m. — Police arrest Ayoola Adisa Ajayi, 31, at an apartment complex at 1028 S. West Temple for investigation of aggravated murder, aggravated kidnapping, desecration of a human body and obstruction of justice in connection with Lueck’s disappearance.

Monday, July 1 — Friends, family and strangers celebrate Lueck's life during a vigil on the University of Utah Union lawn in Salt Lake City.

Tuesday, July 2 — The Salt Lake County District Attorney's Office asks for more time before formally filing charges on Ajayi.

Mackenzie Lueck: A timeline of what we know about the Utah student's disappearance

^^BBM

To be clear, AA was in fact charged with aggravated kidnapping.

Thank you, Seattle.

The fact that her phone goes off within seconds of getting into his car might be enough, right? It also seems to go to what LE thinks is a premeditated murder. I just wonder why she didn't try to get out of the car, if he actually took and disabled her phone at that point. The kidnapping charge of course could be related to him not allowing her to leave his house once they got there (but the phone thing is still concerning).

In a scenario where she turned off her own phone (to preserve battery? thinking she was with a friend?), then she goes voluntarily at least as far as his house.

I wish they would say "deplanes" instead of "departs" in that 2:09 a.m. entry. It throws me every time because it sounds like that's when she departed CA! MOO

Not a bad thought about disabling the door, he could have pulled her out into the house from his side.

Jumping off your post:

Maybe he went to open the trunk to put her suitcase in it and that allowed him the opportunity to throw her in the trunk. Just a thought.

I do think he most likely punched her hard or used a stun gun, moo, perhaps as soon as she got in.

Interesting. Can you share what makes you believe there was someone else involved?

For all we know, since the Lyft driver did not see her/them get into the vehicle, AA could have incapacitated her, placed her in the trunk and turned off her phone. I'm not married to the idea but I think it's a possibility. MOO

All reports from the Lyft driver said she did not appear to be under any duress. There aren't reports of persistent phone calls or following etc.

And the reason it takes longer to go from the airport to Hyde Park rather than vice versa is that there is road construction on the airport off ramp heading towards the city. So you have to head west and then reenter the interstate going east. I live in SLC, actually about 1 KM from AA's house, so am familiar with the logistics and neighborhoods.

When it was reported that she was dropped at that park, I guessed the perp was living in Rose Park, North Salt Lake, or Bountiful, as they are all nearby. It's just too random of a location. It's not a park I've ever heard of. Turns out AA lived across the street a couple of years before and in Rose Park currently. Makes some sense.

AA's house is in Fairpark, not Rose Park. They're close, but not the same.

I lived in Fairpark near this house until recently.

I think it's possible that he also subdued and disabled the victim when he turned off her phone.
I don't think she ever intended to go to his house, otherwise why not just meet him there? I guess he could have made up some story or reason to get her there, but my guess is that he overpowered her very soon after she got into the car.
He may have used a weapon, too. Imo
