If I’m reading correctly, her Lyft ride was over an hour?! Who paid for that? Would she have the money for it? It wouldn’t be cheap, that’s for sure. Just curious.
Do we know if someone else scheduled the Lyft pick-up/drop-off? Perhaps whomever she was meeting? I know transferring cash via Venmo and such is super easy, so maybe it was done that way and she paid it herself. Just curious is all.
Her ride was about 17 minutes.

2:42 a.m. Lyft taken from airport
2:59 a.m. Lyft arrived at Hatch Park

Speaking as to whether she was savvy or not, I remember when our family had an online profile for adoption. Even being an attorney, I was unprepared for the potential perps and scams that are rampant online. We had people posing as others, pretending to be people they are not, asking about pictures of our children, even asking to meet up. The sites were supposed to keep our identity from the public but, in one situation, I ended up on the phone with a internet specialist who dealt which child trafficking. His comment was that you would be surprised what perpetrators can tell from pictures. While most adoption/dating/whatever experiences can be good, the internet also allows predators to gain access they might not get otherwise. So, for Kenzie, while she may be savvy to many things, the internet allows for those with evil intent to work without many safeguards. We have no clue who she thought she was meeting and no clue who she actually met.

Also, on the lifestyle question, I can tell you that her parents do not care one bit about what she has done or what she is doing. They love her and want her back. I am a parent and I know if my child was missing, there is absolutely nothing in the world they could do that would keep me from fighting for them every second if they were missing. It does not matter what faith or what belief system you have, when your child is in danger, parents want nothing more than to have their child safe. I pray that Kenzie's family has that blessing.

I am concerned that because of the internet sites she was involved with (not commenting at ALL on the nature of the sites or what they are for), that she could have fallen prey to an online predator who had the upper hand due to the internet. As I said, even with something as benign as an adoption profile, we had it happen many times. For a young girl, just figuring out who she is and what she wants, I believe someone could have taken advantage of her dear free spirit.

But, I pray that Kenzie is found soon and that her sweet family and friends can have peace.
Beautifully and thoughtfully written. You described nicely what I think indeed happen.

I think she thought she was in control of what she was doing, but savvier people (and more sinister people) can spot a target, and she was a target online. The encounter in the park wasn't a mutually-agreeable date gone wrong, imo, but instead a set up and someone intended to harm ML, and I don't think she saw it coming at all. Total speculation, my hunch only.

I'm assuming it refers to making and sharing sexy videos with a SD instead of actually seeing them in person.
Which I would think is very dangerous considering there is no way to know if these videos will be shared with others or that anyone can access them somehow. Scary stuff. Imo

I’m thinking LE also looked at the time and mileage of the other pickups to determine if the driver had time to do anything to her. I would think if there was a lull anywhere he would continue being more of a suspect. Unless he somehow incapacitated her quickly and placed her in the trunk. But then he would have to bet on his other passengers not needing to use the trunk. ETA: im sure LE would of noticed also if there were signs of a struggle like scratches.
They might have also searched his car and we just don't know about it.

That's correct. But apparently Lyft has a record of when the driver (the one that transported ML from airport to park) picked up the next passenger AFTER he dropped off ML. If the crime was committed by the driver, I would think he would need time to commit said crime and then (I hate typing this) dispose of her body.

She wasn't studying full time. Plus the US university system seems way more flexible than in the UK and, others correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems way easier to change subjects or go at your own pace, whereas it's much stricter and rigid over here.

Correct. Much more flexible here. No needing to take exams to place you into university and in a major from the get go.

If it was a dude who picked her up, I agree that it's a little odd, especially since she had luggage with her.

Even if she didn't, most dudes I know would open the driver door and get out of the car as a courtesy,
especially at that hour.

It wouldn't be so unusual if the person who picked her up was a female, however.
Then, it would sort of make sense, wouldn't it?
She was sort of dressed as if going to meet a friend she was comfortable with, too.
LE hasn't said the person who picked her up was a male.
So there's that, too.

There are a lot of logical contradictions in this case.

A whole lot.

JMO.

It's a bit unusual but the driver could have tried to get her bags and ML declined. I can easily imagine the driver and ML talking in the car, and the driver mention that he is working a late/early morning shift. ML could have said something like " Don't worry, I got my bag. Go on and find you next client!"

I’m from CA we have had many assaults with Uber drivers and Lyft.

LE said in the first PC Lyft driver was not a suspect AT THIS TIME. He never said he was cleared. He’s not going to say he or anyone else a suspect on national TV and have that person go on the run. That would be stupid. At this point they don’t have enough evidence to arrest him or anyone else at this time. They are not going to announce a suspect or POI this early in the investigation. Usually only when they arrest or about to they announce. These days they are very careful and hush hush with their words.

I'm pretty sure LE said the Lyft driver has been "cleared."

Actually, webcam was not part of ML's quote whatsoever! Not sure who inserted that meaning for "online."

ML said she had online only experience, and could help the prospect.

I believe this means she has experience setting up online profiles for the most active the SB/D websites, and that she had two of them.

I know some interpreted that to mean two SD's but I believe it meant two profiles -- probably at SA and sugarbabbies.com each.

On the other thread, a WS member said Online Only is a mutual webcam thing.

Not an hour, more like 15 minutes

Sorry the previous thread had closed before I could reply.

I believe the majority of webcam services are run by web hosts. Hypothetically, a person advertises shows/times/etc. this person would have the option to make it open where multiple viewers could watch or they could move to a private session. ($$$)

The viewer pays through the hosts.

Using web hosts would generate more traffic/$$. Of course it’s possible that she had her own web service (I understand it’s easy to do via Chrome/YouTube/Facebook. MOO: she was going through a host. But yea, I could be wrong.

A disclaimer: I have no personal experience other than an occasional video conference

Can anyone clarify if the Lyft driver said that they watched ML get into the waiting car? Or did they drive away while she was in between vehicles? I find it odd that whoever was in that car didn't get out to help her load her large luggage into the trunk.
I'm not surprised if the person she met didn't help her with luggage. The guy didn't bother to drive 11 miles to pick her up from the airport in the middle of the night. Doesn't seem like he would be interested in helping her with luggage either. This guy was no SD, imo, unless their arrangement was that he would act like a jerk.

NEW: @slcpd confirm

-They have spoken with the person Mackenzie Lueck was texting with while she was at the airport.

-They haven’t confirmed publicly who it is and say they "don’t have any suspects or persons of interest at this time.” #MackenzieLueck

I would think that if they have not publicly cleared this person, then they would be a suspect or POI.

Not questioning LE's determination, I am just pretty shocked at how quick they are actually saying this.

I’m a female who drove for 3 rideshare platforms. I always helped with luggage you get bigger tips as well.

I’m tall and thin but still helped.

Thank you. We're talking about the other driver, did the Lyft driver say that ML loaded her own luggage into the mystery car before getting in? Or did Lyft driver leave before she got into the other car?

Yes. That’s the one

Group is called: HBC Crime Discussion MacKenzie Lueck
