His pants don’t look dirty, imo, only soggy. We’ve all walked in wet grass & had our jeans wet to the knees. It doesn’t even need be tall grass, if the hem gets wet, it works up, at least for me. I can walk across freshly mowed grass if the dew is heavy and have the same thing happen.

Not all child molesters are actual pedophiles. Many of them have consistent relationships with adults their own age and aren't into child *advertiser censored* or anything.

These people are twisted regardless of course. They appear to be arrogant, entitled, defects who view women and children's bodies as theirs for the taking. Many times it's either part of a pattern of on-going, secret abuse against a young relative or it's a sudden, shocking, opportunistic attack.

What's so sick about this case IMO is not only did he prey on a sweet little, doe-eyes darling, she is his own niece! His own flesh and blood. His sister's kid.

This guy is depraved.

ITA! IMO some people don't fit as a true pedophile because what they really are is a sexual predator. IOW, someone who will look more for opportunity and a "weak" victim - someone not likely to fight back who will be overpowered easily. Unfortunately that often means they'll go after children. And when you add drugs or alcohol into the mix the risk factor rises.

I'm not a mental health professional but it just seems that people like AW are, as you say, depraved and IMO lack empathy and insight. So we see cruel behavior and luckily, poor planning of what to do after to cover their crime. I'm not a big believer that people like this can be "rehabilitated" - only incarcerated to protect other potential victims. MOO.

You're right. And I'm not accusing the father of anything. But the article shared in this thread is taking partial screen shots directly from his public wall. Instead of him being taken out of context by the Daily Mail someone can read his public comments about the situation directly.

Hey that is really neat! I read a few articles and it is quite expensive to set up ($1m roughly). I wonder if Logan has one or if they have to take it to Salt Lake City. I wonder how the results of these hold up in court. I hope they do more official testing!

5-27-19 Over View and Update of Missing 5 Year Old Elizabeth Shelley:

Police were called around 10 am on Sat the 25th to report a missing 5-year-old female Elizabeth Jessica Shelley.

According to family the complainants brother Alex Whipple showed up Friday evening and they were all in the home at 2am. When they awoke the next morning a little after 9 am they couldn’t find Elizabeth and Alex was no longer in the home. They searched for a while and then contacted police.

Police began search for Elizabeth and Alex, multiple agencies were called in to assist in these efforts. Officers located several items of interest a short distance from the home. This item has been tested and there is forensic evidence of 5-year-old Elizabeth Shelley. This evidence also connects Mr. Whipple to the residence from which she went missing and to Elizabeth herself. Some items were then located another short distance away which also shows a forensic connection to our missing 5-year-old.

Cache County Deputies Located Alex Whipple approximately 3pm at the south end of Cache Valley. He failed to identify himself and had a warrant for his arrest for not checking in with probation for is recent charges of receiving stolen property and driving under the influence. He was also in possession of drug paraphernalia. The Cache County Sheriff’s department has charged him with those criminal violations.

He was transported to Logan City police where he was interviewed by detectives. Mr. Whipple made several inconsistent statements at the very beginning and lied about his whereabouts which were already known. He was uncooperative throughout the interrogation. Several search warrants were obtained and executed throughout the night on several crime scenes and for evidence from Alex Whipple’s person. The evidence obtained from Alex Whipple was tested and there are confirmed forensic evidence from Elizabeth Shelley located from off his person.

Multiple agencies including local, state and federal teams continue to work day and night to locate Elizabeth Shelley.

We continue to search area of southwest Logan and points south to Hyrum through Nibley.
We have resources from many agencies from Law Enforcement to Search and Rescue groups. These agencies include the FBI including their Child Exploitation Task Force and Violent Crimes Task Force, Homeland Security, Cache County Sheriff’s Office, North Park Police Department, Smithfield Police Department, Utah Highway Patrol, Adult Probation and Parole and Great Basin K9.
We are working leads which have come forward from our citizenry including possible sightings of Alex Whipple on Saturday.

We ask the public to contact us immediately if :
They saw Mr. Whipple or Elizabeth on Saturday.
You live in the Southwest part of Logan or along the area of 1200 West between Nibley and Hyrum and have video cameras on your residence or business to please contact us as well.
For that same area we ask that individuals check their yards, buildings, containers and garbage cans for anything they don’t recognize.

I cant stand it I am trhing to catch up and the the 911 calls link. An open unsecured bldg on the 26th. The responding officer secured the bldg and left, no suspicious activity found. Apparently there is a weirdo riding a bike around and there was an abandoned bike found later. Please tell me the bldg was searched and find video of the creepy bike riding guy. I bet this was already discussed? Ive never thought if this but does somebody at LE take a look at the calls as a measure toward investigating the kidnapping that happened later?

I finally just caught up! I have a few questions:
1. Why would AW still be carrying some of Lizzy’s clothes? I’d think he’d want to be rid of them!

2. Where did LE find some of Lizzy’s other clothes buried?

3. It’s been said Lizzy was wearing either a skirt or jeans shorts (?) when last seen. Why wasn’t she in her PJs when last seen? Did her mom notice that the PJs Lizzy wore to bed, were found in the house and the skirt / jeans shorts were missing?

4. It’s been said in pressers & elsewhere, that “the family was up late.” Who is the family that lives there? Other children? Lizzy’s grandparents? Mom’s BF?

5. I’ve seen AW’s mom mentioned. Does she live in the house? Nearby?

6. And the photos of AW exiting a store and other photo of him next to it: What is on his head? Backwards baseball cap? It’s just his hair? Looks kinda like someone took a black marker to his head!

7. Has it been mentioned where AW has been living/staying?

Sorry for so many questions. I did a rush job catching up. Thanks to everyone who posted the video, the photos, great comments, and the locals that told/explained of the surrounding areas.

I’ve been at WS from almost the very beginning when there were just a few hundred of us and it was easy to catch after being away from a case for a day or so. Not so much now.

Took me all day today and I was only gone a half a day yesterday.

Anyway, TIA for any answers you have to my questions.

PS: One theory I have is that Lizzy’s mom & her brother AW were up late arguing about his drug use, no job, no place to live/stay and she kept saying he had to leave. Maybe he left, as she ordered him to, he came back, took Lizzy for revenge/spite?
Just a thought!

Imo, DHS or FBI provided one at the scene in the mobile lab.

In the cases I've followed where the quick DNA is in use, they've used the quick results as an investigative tool and then followed up with conventional slow testing that meets forensic standards.

We have them but I can't think of any that would be big enough for a body or that a single person can open. They are like the size of a cold air return in your house with a grate over it.

Anyone else know of some bigger and accessible? Or any wells in the area?

Or didn't want to disturb her to change clothing. My youngest would fall asleep like that, but if I even attempted to change to pajamas, we'd be dealing with a kid awake for at least another two hours...

I made a reference to another case earlier - I do believe he left her very close but well hidden and the damp pants provide the clue - hope they have those and are testing and they may lead to her location - with scattered clothes based onMSM reports - I think they were removed prior to him placing her wherever he did - praying they find her soon

Did unc stop by sister's house because he was using whatever he had with him and was unable to go to his home? Maybe sleeping it off at sister's house? Was this able to happen because he was drugged up and unable to fight urges? Foo.
