Yea , I also think there seems a misaleignment of questions v/s answers, such as
When did you last see you daughter v/s when you last spoke with her.
Its a minor thing ,but it does make AH's mom seem to be odd ,when I think it was the reporters fault .
Those box statements and bin search request may be a responce to question we were not told she was asked. IMO
 
Highly unlikely if she was killed by someone she didn't know they would go to the trouble of texting from her phone "she was at a friend's house and needed some "me time,"" - that's someone she knows trying to buy time/delay the investigation.

Sitting on my hands but I think we know where this one is heading sadly.

Your Lynchburg Police Department (LPD) arrested Michael L. Perry III (21) of Lynchburg, after he was detained earlier today in connection with the murder of Avriel Hooks.
LPD Detectives worked tirelessly over the past week, utilizing all available investigative resources and partnered with Hooks’ family, our community, local, state, and federal partners with hopes of locating Hooks safely.
Following the extensive search earlier today in Amherst County in partnership with the Amherst County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO), a body was located in a wooded area off U.S. 60 (Lexington Turnpike), Amherst, VA.
Michael L. Perry III was transported to the Blue Ridge Regional Jail where he is being held without bond on the following charges:
Murder in the 2nd Degree and Unlawful Disposal of a Dead Body

The body of a missing Lynchburg woman has been found, a week after her disappearance, according to multiple reports.

ABC13 was also at the scene at Campbell and Carroll Avenues (now identified to be Garfield Avenue) where earlier this afternoon, a police presence was reported by a group of citizen-led searchers looking for Hooks.

Individuals in the search group and friends of the family also shared with ABC13 that the body of Hooks was found. ABC13 has attempted to confirm this information with Lynchburg Police.

From photos and videos of the scene at Garfield Avenue, multiple units responded to the scene which is now taped off, including a tow truck.

ABC13 saw the tow truck impounding and taking away a vehicle, now believed to be the person of interest's vehicle.

So sad. When he was pretending to be the distressed loving husband, and she's saying they're separated . . . it seems the handwriting was on the wall with this one.

What a lovely woman, and mother, gone way too soon.
 
I don't know how long they were married, she was so young, but his arrest history in VA is alarming. He was currently out on bail for violation of a protective order with the hearing scheduled for Nov. 2023.
Too many to list and ignoring the traffic ones but charges include:
Possession of Firearm by Violent Convicted Felon (2020)
Violent Felon in Possession of Weapon (2022)
Shooting in Public Place (2022).
Brandishing a Firearm (2020)
Violation of Protection Order (2023)
Identity Theft
Assault of a Family Member (2021 and 2022)
Strangulation/Wounding (2022).

He's only 21, so he accomplished all of this in his 3 years as an adult. I can only imagine what his juvenile record must look like.
 
Court documents note Perry and Hooks were married on November 2, 2022.

Her mother, Ashley Pittman, told WSET Hooks and Perry had been together since 2020 and added the couple was estranged. They shared a child.

She said she also called Perry and asked what happened, and he told her he didn't know, but he had the baby.
He claims that she contacted him two different ways and I asked for proof, but he couldn't provide it," Pittman said.

Pittman also told WSET multiple times she was suspicious of Perry, but even with her suspicions, she didn't want to believe that he could have killed her daughter.
They had a rough relationship before, and they had the little things they'd do -- scratch, fight, whatever," Pittman said. "Even as rough as their relationship was, I don't want to believe he could do that. Not in a million years do I want to believe it. It's just where everything points right now."

Hooks' sister, Lydia Page, said she had last talked with Hooks about a week before she went missing. At that time, Page said Hooks was anxious about talking to anyone who may have been in contact with Perry, and she assured her sister that she was not.
I confirmed with her that he was stalking mostly our pages, and I told her ... I said, 'I promise we're not talking to him, I wouldn't talk to him.' And that's the last time I heard from her," Page said.
