VA VA - Codi Bigsby, 4, last seen at dad's home, Cory Bigsby (dad) named as POI, Hampton, 31 Jan 2022

On January 31, 2022, at approximately 9:06 a.m., officers were called and responded to the 100 block of Ranalet Drive in reference to a missing juvenile. Once on scene officers met with the father of the juvenile and were informed that Cody Bigsby was last seen in the residence overnight at approximately 2:00 a.m.

Cody is a four-year-old black male, standing approximately 3 feet tall. He was last seen wearing all black clothing and Spider-Man flip-flops.

He was last seen at his dad's Hampton, Virginia home, on Ranalet Drive, at about 2 a.m. Monday.

He was reported missing at about 9 a.m

The FBI has since joined the search and authorities say they are expanding their search in a grid pattern.

Large police presence in the parking lot just north of the @cityofhampton’s Buckroe Soccer Complex. @FBINorfolk , @HamptonVAPolice & @HamptonVAFire all on scene searching around the Buckroe Pointe apartments for Bigsby. Family is cooperating per police. @WAVY_News

From presser:
Father searched house then called police.
Police searched house but couldn't locate.
Have had airplanes and drones out there. FBI is helping.
Don't need help from the public there at this time.

Other young kids in house with Dad.
Did they speak to Codi's mother? Yes, spoke to her. Answered questions they needed answered.
Do they believe Codi could be with another family member? No, they don't believe so.

Any CCTV found? Investigation is ongoing.

PIO said public is not in danger. Codi lives with dad. Dad woke up and Codi was gone. Looking for any info and video.

Overall I got the feeling LE is keeping things close. Officer IMO gave curt answers to most questions.

Ugghhh... sitting on my hands. I hope I am wrong.

Codi is adorable. It is always suspicious to me when a parent says they last saw a toddler in the early morning (2 a.m.) hours.

Chief Mark Talbot says there are concerns Codi Bigsby may not have gone missing when his father said he did (2A.m.) When I asked if there was reason to believe Codi was in danger…he responded “they really want to find him.”
