CORY BIGSBY DENIED BOND. Father of missing Codi Bigsby denied bond. Judge says he is a flight risk and risk to community. More on @WTKR3 and noon at http://wtkr.com/live

I wonder how they came up with him being a risk to the community? That's not my take on what little I know about the case. His children, yes, but to the community? Hmmmm.....

unless they are referring to the risk he presents to his other children, which I'll admit, seems a stretch since they are under state care since Codi went missing. I guess they could be referring to the previous domestic violence we've read about, or additional info the court and attorneys have but hasn't been made public to us. Interesting - things that make you go hmmm

He has other children who live with their mother and I know it was talked about on this thread about her comments to media.

To me, the family is not the same as the community. It's like if my neighbor is the victim of spousal abuse, the neighbors and the community are not in danger. Hence me not understanding why they are saying he's a risk to the community. They must know something we do not.

many local outlets promise to be covering this morning's hearing and outcome on their midday reports so I am hoping we get more info about the evidence presented by the state, possible it may enlighten us to the danger to community part of today's decision (not that I disagree with the continued lack of bond mind you. I think he is right where he belongs)

There are two things a judge considers at a bond hearing: if the person is a flight risk and if they are a threat to the community.

Judge Savage, who was a substitute judge for Tuesday’s hearing, decided Bigsby was both. Two key factors when making that decision came down to a prior assault allegation against Bigsby, and an AWOL conviction in the Army years ago.

Police say Bigsby is the main person of interest in the disappearance of his son, Codi. The judge also noted that fact in court.

Bigsby’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 13.

the obligatory "he would never harm that baby" type comments from Cory's family members also at link.

Honestly the info the defense attorney put out today in the court room and to reporters is not helping his client . And the defense said he was only awol 4 days in Germany but he resurfaced 3 weeks later in USA . The 2 prior dv and failing a polygraph . I hope they can find that little boy so he can be laid to rest properly.
