Amber Alert: Virginia baby abducted at knifepoint by sex offender

Emma Grace Kennedy is believed to have been abducted shortly before 8 p.m. by her father, 51-year-old Carl Ray Kennedy, after assaulting her mother with a knife at the Kwik Stop #9 on 4912 Riverside Drive.

Seems to be a very short incarceration for sexual battery.

He is out of jail on a $250,000 bond for drug distribution. He is also a registered sex offender in the state of North Carolina.

Last seen wearing a brown short sleeve shirt with gray shorts and white Sketchers; has a tattoo of a skull on his left forearm, tattoo of a skull with bandanna over the mouth on right forearm, tattoo of eye on the back of his right hand, tattoo of pit bull with American bulldog written under it and a wizard on his left upper arm (NCMEC).

DANVILLE - Virginia State Police have issued an AMBER Alert for 2-month old Emma Grace Kennedy. Police believe she is in extreme danger.

She was last seen at the Kwik Stop in Danville on Riverside Drive.

According to police, she was taken by 51-year old Carl Ray Kennedy. He allegedly assaulted her mother with a knife before taking the child. They were last seen heading Eastbound on Route 59.

Kennedy is believed to be heading towards North Carolina. He may be driving a gold Suzuki 4-door with North Carolina tags #FAA-1873.

If you see this vehicle, Carl Kennedy, or Emma, contact police immediately.

State police told WFXR that Carl and the mother met at the Kwik Stop to discuss custody and visitation issues before it turned violent. Carl's custodial rights were revoked.

Police say the mother is expected to be OK following the assault.

Hopefully he just wants more time with the baby and has no ill intentions. Some very evil and sick people don't ever hurt their children so, let's hope this is one of those cases.

Majorly worried on this one! That baby girl is just the epitome of LOVE and this guy is the scariest thing imaginable! Please God don't let any harm come to this child. Please God. Please.

Praying that the baby is safe. You never know what the intentions were but let's hope that he cares for this child. If he was meeting the mother for a visitation agreement shows a little something. It just all went wrong when the knife got involved.

Different description of car, plus other possible vehicles.

The car implicated is a gold Subaru Impreza with improper NC license tag FAA1873 with a Johnny's Auto Sales emblem on it. The car in question was reported earlier as a Suzuki. Kennedy also has access to a blue Jeep Cherokee and a Dodge truck.
