Very skimpy info on this one; Helen's listing was just added to NamUs this past week. From what I gather, she was written off as a runaway by LE at the time of her disappearance.

I couldn't find much, but I did find a posting by her sister, who's still looking for her but doesn't sound like she expects to find Helen still living:

She was apparently dropped off at a Jack-in-the-Box after school, and her sister says she is not the UID found June 9, 1973 in St Petersburg, FL.

Helen is described as a white female, 5'3" tall and 115 pounds, with blue eyes and brown hair. Last seen wearing a white sweater, white blouse and a blue/gray pleated skirt.

In this link, it seems LE in Pennsylvania were interested in Helen in regards to a 1973 cold case.

This is the UID in question that is mentioned in the exchange, she is commonly known as Jonestown Jane Doe http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?161513-PA-Fort-Indiantown-Gap-WhtFem-609UFPA-16-20-covered-w-plastic-Oct-73. I have my doubts about her being Helen as she is estimated as being between 5'6"-5'8" tall (compared to Helen's listed height of 5'3" tall) and was found more than a year after Helen went missing but was believed to have died fairly recently, only one or two weeks before she was found.

UP1341 - skeletal remains found in Florida on August 22, 1973, fits some of the characteristics. but it might be a strech because of the circumstances described on the DoeNetwork. Chemical isotope testing suggested she was born in the Pacific Northwest or Western United States and lived in the Midwest prior to her death, but I'm not sure how believable isotopes are.

UP16805 - body found on December 2, 1974 in New Mexico. Again, fits some of the characteristics, but it would mean she was alive for over two years after she disappeared.
