Friends, community hold candlelight vigil for missing Manassas Park mother

A prayer and solemn candlelight vigil was held in front of the home of Mamta Kafle Bhatt, the Manassas Park mother who has been missing for weeks.

The vigil took place hours after Manassas Park Police Chief Mario Lugo held a closed-door meeting with community members and Mamta Kafle Bhatt's friends, informing them of the arrest and saying she is presumed dead.

They have planned an event Saturday at Signal Hill Park to remember Mamta Kafle Bhatt.

I've been thinking of the little one. She is an American citizen and I don't think it will be easy for family in another country to gain custody, but that is my guess, not based on experience or knowledge.

That, and her mother moved here, as many of us, looking for a better life for herself and her future children. The mother worked hard as a nurse. "For her American dream", one might say. Her baby was born here. I hope there is a chance to collect for a fund for her and maybe the community will help raising the daughter. JMO.

It lists 7/30/2024 as the offense date. So does LE have evidence indicating the date of death or are they basing that on Naresh Bhatt saying that is when he last saw her?

I noticed, a female LE Officer escorted him out. How appropriate.

It might be a good approach. He resembles me of Patrick Frazee; obstinate to the extreme. I sincerely wish LE to find Mamta, because as I remember, Frazee kept silent. JMO - a soft-spoken woman, like the one that worked with Chris Watts, could work well with Bhatt or anyone whose behavior is geared by his perceived need to protect his right to control, be it people or circumstances. JMO.
