The thing is Meow, that was an early release day because of exams. Meghan would have been let out of school at 10:55. A normal school days ends around two, two thirty. If Meghan walked to and from school (which is sort of a long walk) then she probably wouldn't be home til 3:00 or maybe 2:45. I don't know if it mentioned whether she walked to and from school.

Wouldn't the murderer have to have known that or did he come into the house hours after Meghan got home?
 
Local news at noon reported NO suspects, NO arrest in this case. arggggggggg

No, my stepkids are much younger. I don't like to say this since I'm not originally from here and I could very well be wrong, but... I've heard from teens in the area(a few years ago I worked in a convenience store) that the high school she went to was a bit rough.
 
To be honest most of the high schools in this area are a little "rough". I didn't send my son to Wilson because I thought it was a bad school. My daughter insisted she wanted to go there because her friends were there. Yes, there are some troublemakers but there's a good number of students there that are just good kids. I think Meghan was one of those good kids. I don't think LE thinks for any minute that one of her fellow students did anything to harm her or that she was involved in anything criminal that might have caused this (not that I thought you were insinuating this).

Portsmouth has it's share of crime. Most of the time it's limited to certain areas. Where Meghan lived was not one of those areas.

Has your news been plastered with this news story? There sure isnt much on line and I have yet to read a printed story that shows LE telling the public to be aware of a possible murderer. Have they made this plea yet? I understand about the rumors (as I read up pn this for 4 hrs yesterday), but where is :

a-public outcry to catch a murderer on the loose
b-LE telling the public to be cautious
c-school girls/boys scared to go to school or stay home alone in fear of a killer
d-her group of friends being nervous that maybe someone is after one of them

Some of those scenarios may overlap eachother, but WHY IS LE BEING SO TIGHT LIPPED????

Sorry to back trak on this lizzy, but are you saying the hs is so far away she wouldnt get home for 3.5-4 hours after school got out? Or is that the normal time she should have been home? Whoever it was, had to know not only her schedule, but that it was min day at school. I hope her real dad isnt involved. In someof those forums, they state the molester was bio dad's friend and some say she had a shady uncle also-

I am going to re-check some of the better Portsmouth forums for some new info :)

Chico- are these your assumptions, based on the blog, or other- I'm concerned. If what your saying is being touted to the public, I am witholding my opinion until your answer. Thanks
 
OMG- I swear this factors in: the Supreme Court Scotus Crawford Ruling, just came across my research. Unbelievable the effect it could have on criminal prosecutions.

I knew Meghan. She was in my sons 5th grade class she had ms. Kirkpatrick and Ms. Reeder. then she was in my daughters summer program at the high school and was in the magnet program in dance and then went back to the high school near her home. Im still in shock that someone could do something like this. Meghan was small but had such a bright smile. I pray for her family. May she rest in peace. May God Bless her family and friends. I can't even imagine losing my child at this age. May we all hug our kids today! and remember Meghan always and her family during this very hard time. God Bless you all!

This case has so many elements already. If we can believe the rumors (btw, I don't not have a problem with putting the COD rumored on here as long as we address it as only that. If it were me, I would post it.) Meghan was sexually assaulted by possibly her biological father and friend/uncle. One or both could be in the military. (Is it possible this happened ON base and why NCIS is all over it now?)
 
Welcome to WS, Jazzewile! Sorry it has to be under such circumstances, but your input is certainly welcome here. Her death is quite tragic and my heart goes out to all of you, especially your son and daughter. I am sorry they have to deal with this. It is such a shame and it affects so many.

I think you mis-understood me. I was trying to say, after reading the forums posted below, it sounds like locals know who may have done this to her. I stated it was strictly rumor, as I have yet to read anything printed.

If this young girl was murdered like these people are saying, either there is a murderer loose or they know exactly who did it and they are building their case. If I lived in the area, I would be concerned thinking its a murderer on the loose and LE has no idea who it is.

I would like to clarify what I have posted is either posted in these articles in these two papers or printed elsewhere. These are the only 2 forums I posted rumors off of since they all say the same story. Everyone I read has the same 'rumors' and even some of the locals have verified rumors heard around town. They all say the same thing.

Officer Chris Amos, a Norfolk police spokesman, said officers assisted the Naval Criminal Investigative Service in staking out the address on Kirby Crescent off Thole Street, just off Tidewater Drive. “They were waiting for someone to come home,” he said.

Amos said he could not release the person’s name or offer any further details.

Susan Melow, a public affairs officer with Military Sealift Fleet Support Command, said the man works for the command.

The only thing I have read so far is that the man who molested her is a marine. I would guess he was/is active since they are involved so heavily. Not sure if they would be otherwise. Between speaking with locals in PM's (and I feel confident they are telling the truth about what they 'heard'), and reading the forum comments from quite a few friends and locals, this is the real story.

This poor girl died a violent death and the worst part is, no one is in custody yet. Either the rumors are true, or a murderer is on the loose. :behindbar

I do know how rumors fly, and can be harmful to an investigation (see Nick Francisco today) but when the majority of locals and friends are saying the same thing, then I feel good posting it also. If Im wrong, I apologize in advance.
 
What are they saying as to Cause Of Death?

OT-There is no reason to think rumors have harmed Nick's case in any way. Just the opposite, imo.

If you didnt see it, then I spoke in length to a couple locals who didnt want to post publicly until LE releases info or it is printed. From what I have gathered, he molested her last year, Poss a friend of bio-dad??(and I do mean RUMOR only), and she was to testify against him the following day in a molestation trial. He apparently molested her last year sometime. I was surprised on how many people brought that up. This would answer for the quick NCIS/SWAT mission on his home right away. NCIS would not assist local LE unless they had a darn good reason to.

OT- i agree about the rumors too, in fact, I posted some comments to it. Could be possible given the secret life...sorry for OT.
 
I don't see why putting the COD here would be a problem, but that is just me I guess. If everyone around town already knows! (I heard it was a stabbing early on.)

I think it makes a difference in who the suspect could be by the violence associated with the COD.

If she was molested on base...it would explain a lot. Family is allowed on base and perhaps her biological father is the perp or someone closely related to him. This would make it an issue for NCIS immediately.
