Found Deceased VA - Morgan Dana Harrington, 20, Charlottesville, 17 Oct 2009 - #7

It is old info, but now it puts things in a little better perspective. Initially we heard she interacted with some people outside JPJ and then in the RV lot. Early on I thought it was other concert-goers or tailgaters who were outside the arena partying in the RV lot. For some reason, even after it was reported the RV lot had reserved parking for athletes, I was still under the impression it also had RV's that came to the concert. But apparently it was reserved totally for athletes and that the people she interacted with their wasn't "partiers" but rather basketball players. That would explain why the report said they ended up leaving, since they never were there for the concert.

And, I don't think the players had anything to do with it since it was reported they left and she was seen minutes later at the bridge. But it does clear up, for me at least, that there wasn't some partying concert goers in that lot in RV's.

Do we just have the players' word that they left in their cars then? I hope they aren't the only ones who provided confirmed sightings of MH on both sides of the bridge ("we slowed down and drove alongside her to make sure she got across okay"). It's gotten me thinking, for sure.

Desperate for Help​

Twenty-year-old Morgan Harrington was last seen Saturday, October 17, 2009 at the John Paul Jones Arena at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA. She attended a Metallica concert and was separated from her friends. Virginia State Police and campus security have searched the area using dogs and a helicopter and say they don’t have many leads.

“You never thought that you’d be sitting in this place in a thousand, thousand years,” says Gil, Morgan’s mother.

“We just want Morgan to come back safely so we have our baby back,” says Dan, Morgan’s dad. “If Morgan’s out there and hears us, please come home.”

Gil adds, “Be strong, We are trying to find you. We will never stop. We are trying, Honey. Hang on.”

matched the description of Morgan, down to what she was wearing. He
also saw her interact outside the arena with 3 "very tall" black men, and
saw them walking together towards U-Hall. They passed right in front of
his vehicle. My employee has spoken to the police 3 times since that
evening about what he saw. This certainly doesn't prove anything at all
relative to any UVA basketball players, but unfortunately it does give the
story some credibility. When my emplouee told me the story, my fisrt
thought was please,please,please, don't let any basketball players be
involved in this.

Paper woman claims to have seen MH Sunday a.m. around 3:00 (or 3:30?) while delivering papers in the Academical Village (near the Rotunda and kind of the center of UVA's main grounds).

Also someone stood up at the search organizing meeting and said she and her husband, exiting a wedding held in a room in the Academical Village, had seen MH and 3 males (though I believe Caucasian), and iirc somewhat earlier in the evening.

Finally, there was an early report (never substantiated) of MH walking on Emmet Street south of Ivy Road late Saturday evening with 3 males (dressed in black?).

Wonder if any of the three basketball players live in the Academical Village, a place reserved for top 3rd and 4th year undergrads?

The paper woman also said it wasn't unusual to see "goth" and metal? type kids hanging out there around that hour. Not sure on her exact wording, just know she said she's seen it before.

If Morgan were walking with 3 basketball players, i'd think people would notice if they were very tall.. never know though

That would be interesting to know. LE put out their timeline but they haven't released who made the sightings.

Can anyone find the detailed account of what the newspaper lady saw? I believe she described one of the men as tall with curly hair. I find it odd considering the basketball player info that has come to light. Also, are the players the ones who gave the sighting of Morgan crossing the bridge?

Her saying she can draw faces when she can't see them? I don't understand what she means by that..
There are a ton of blonde girls that look similiar to Morgan..

That is definitely the direction I'd be looking (the last person's to see/speak with Morgan). I mean when you think about it, it makes much more sense. She see's some college guys, she's perhaps inebriated. They chat, she tells them she's locked out of the concert and all her friends are inside - its cold outside and she's looking for a ride.

It's Saturday night, always parties on Sat night. They invite her along maybe? Offer to give a ride? Mention somewhere nearby where there is a party and she could hang out and keep warm.....

Even if those guys didn't do anything to Morgan, I bet there is some info there that is important to this case.

I don't know about all of that. Yes I am pretty sure he is gay but I live in a pretty conservative area, the midwest, and I find gay people in my workplace and also neighborhood quite accepted. Because they make themselves acceptable. Granted if they started parading around in the gear he has on in the picture eyebrows would lift a bit and then they would go down again.

I am sure Alex is in touch with his sexuality and not afraid to show his grief because somebody had him curled up in Morgans bed trying to get to her smell..or some such nonsense.

I find the "family pictures" I see with him looking fine. I think he must have respected his parents.

My point is this is not his time to break down. The world needs him now..this is his moment to shine..this could take him to the next level. This could make Alex special.

I wonder if anybody ever had a "tough love" talk with Alex.

Sorry I am way off topic of finding Morgan. I was a real tough love mom. They are all gone now and I am so very proud of them. I just want Alex to be all that he can be. I guess that will not be up to me. I rest my case.

ITA with what you have written, Honeybun. I just want to add one thing. Maybe it's just me, but in the one photo of him, his father, Morgan and another girl, there is something about his eyes. He looks very angry or something, not sure what. This just struck me and probably has no relevance to the case at hand, but, I felt like posting it. MOO.

Yes, the P is for purse and the numbers are the linear sequence coinciding with the reported time line of where she was seen after leaving the arena up until 9:30.

I asked this question on another forum.... What makes LE so sure the bridge sighting was really Morgan and this was the last sighting? There have been so many other sightings that were dismissed... why is this one being given so much credibility in the timeline?

Don't know what makes them so sure on any of the sightings. Clothing was distinctive enough and maybe the credible ones provided some identifying details that were/are being withheld (necklace/jewelry, purse, cut/scratch on chin).

In response to the last sighting being publicized, what struck me in listening to the VSP PIO during the November 4th (?) press conference is that LE is only going to release a time line if all the gaps have been filled in (or words to that effect), which I guess they have to do legally, but it seemed strange to me to hear that.

I was just having a look at the path she seemed to travel. By the time she reached the place her purse was found she had traveled about 7 blocks. I believe she was not dressed for nighttime and wasn't the temp kind of low that night. If for some reason she became scared it looks like it was closer to cross over the bridge than to return to the JpJ. I was trying to place myself in her clothing, weather conditions and how far she had come. Plus hadn't she fallen inside and was probably not in the best of shape considering Fall, no reentry, no car keys, not dressed for the weather, cold night and it looks like out in the middle of nowhere. I have always been confused if she wore a jacket that night or just that Pantera shirt. Any ideas on any of this?

Its all making sense now when I do that tracing I described above. I am sure she could see the lights of the shopping center and was trying for that instead of going all the way back to JPJ. I can almost feel her pain and how scared she must have been. I wonder if she was roughed up where she lost her purse and was trying to get to safety?
