KENBRIDGE, VA (WWBT) -The search continues for a missing Kenbridge woman, weeks after her presumed disappearance. Virginia Edmonds hasn't been seen since June 28, and her family says she has undiagnosed dementia and could be in serious trouble.

Are there no cameras in the town where she lives that might show which direction she went? I'm in Virginia and we don't have cameras in the rural town we live in but the traffic lights in the bigger cities. Could someone have been in the back seat of her car, robbing her and that's why she withdrew all the money from her checking account? Did somebody actually see her go in her house after she went to the bank? Did she leave with a suitcase or packed bags? Praying she is found safe!

CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) They have searched for her in the water, from the air, and on all the rural roads in Lunenburg County. They've passed out flyers and after all that, there have been hardly any clues about where Virginia Edmonds might be.

Breaking News: Missing Kenbridge woman's car found

Deputies have found the vehicle that belongs to missing woman has been found in the Beaver Creek Community of Lunenburg County.

Shortly after 12 p.m. Sunday, the Sheriff's Office was notified of an Oldsmobile Alero in a wooded area in the 900 block of Egg Drive. The car was found by a male subject using a bush hog in an adjacent path. Law enforcement immediately dispatched tracking K-9 to the scene to search the area for the car's driver, Virginia Edmonds.

Crews search for missing Lunenburg County woman

"We're doing hasty teams and also grid searches," said Gary Goodson with Angel Search and Rescue. "We've got 35 professional searches out. We've got 7 k-9s out today and yesterday. And we're just trying to comb the area in the location where the vehicle was found."

Missing Virginia Woman&#8217;s Trail Goes Cold After Police Locate Vehicle

Police received a tip that Edmonds, who suffers from dementia, used to baby sit at a house near where her car was found. According to police, she would walk with her charges around a nearby park and then circle back to the stream to let them play in the water. A trail of latex balloons was also found leading from the car.

How sad! I HATE it when dementia takes lovely minds like Miss Virginia. There was a woman in Columbia who had just gotten out of the hospital and vanished. Poor thing, she went to get a prescription filled and drove off the road. Took a year to find her.

LUNENBURG COUNTY, Va. -- Authorities believe they have discovered the remains of a woman who vanished in Kenbridge more than three years ago.

Lunenburg County Sheriff Arthur Townsend said a hunter on the Red Bank Hunt Club's property discovered human remains around 10 a.m. Saturday.
Townsend said the remains will be transported to the Office of the Medical Examiner in Richmond for positive identification.
