Does anyone know if any of the news organizations have some sort of notification text or something that we can get when the jury is back with a verdict?

You don't wanna wait even a minute longer, huh? :)

If you don't want to give out your email to a news organization...

But you want to be notified when the verdict comes in...

WebSleuths can create a Verdict Notification Topic...

And CLOSE/LOCK the topic when the jury begins deliberations.

Members should SUBCRIBE to that topic -- click on THREAD TOOLS above

And select INSTANT NOTIFICATION BY EMAIL in the drop down box.

When the verdict comes in, an Admin or Moderator can REPLY to that locked/closed topic -- perhaps 2 replies spaced by a few minutes -- while keeping the topic locked. Otherwise, hundreds of notification emails per member could go out.

The reply(s) in that thread will generate instant email notifications to all who are subscribed.

Just a thought.

You can sign up for e-mail notification at WFTV.
They want your name and age, too but you could always make up a yahoo or gmail account then close it after the trial. :)
You can choose what subjects you want and ICA trial is one the list.

I can't link b/c once I signed up, the link went away, but it was one their home page. :(

oh good! because I may be on the Millenium force roller coaster at cedar point when it happens!

Now this is what I'm talking about...Ive been trying to get to Cedar for years..

20 minute notice isnt much time for me in the next week or so... The verdict is only during court hours say to 5 or 6pm?

I will pretty much be close to home I guess. I do not want to be running erronds and not be able to get to a television..

I live in Orlando and we just got a verdict in another high profile case (football player who died at UCF) and the verdict came in Wednesday or Thursday night at about 10:45. All the attorneys were sitting around in the court room and I could swear I saw the same bailiff there that escorts the witnesses to the stand. Anyway - point being - they were still deliberating that late - pretty crazy.

:floorlaugh:
and if you are in line, will you go to the back of the line or let those behind you go 1 by 1 in front of you until the verdict is done being read? :floorlaugh:

Sorry! couldn't help myself. ;)

I use this and it works great....I just get a few texts a day when it's something important.

Thank you!
This one seemed to be the easiest for me.
I have an old cell phone, not a newer smart phone.
This link gives you two ways to get texts.
The second way, I added my cell phone number and clicked the button saying I only wanted Casey updates.
The message I received : When you get the confirmation, type "Y" as your reply.
I then got a message saying I would get up to THREE messages per day.
At least I won't be bombarded with texts. lol

This is a great idea! Let's see what we can do. After closing tomorrow we will get a thread up. Remind me if we forget 10-4?

:waiting:
I'm still waiting for the Scott Peterson verdict on my phone...

Every time I hear him talk about this I think... somebody should ask him....

"What if you are at a BBQ... in the mountains, with no cell phone, TV or computer service...

Now how Vinnie, are you going to tell us about the verdict THEN???"

I don't twitter/tweet/twitter pate... or I'd ask him myself.

See, that's my situation. I am leaving to go camping... today for a family reunion.

I can't believe it. The problem with actually liking people occasionally. :waitasec:

If she's found not guilty, the sun will fall from the sky, so then you'll know.

Is this going to be the notification thread we should subscribe to, or is there going to be a different thread? TIA!

Vinnie Politan pimps his Twitter account every evening for just this purpose.
He says that even if you are at a bbq when the verdict comes in, he'll make sure you know first, lol.
