It can't be much consolation to the Lin family at this point, but I'm glad the will never get out or be able to excuse himself with so-called mental illness. My faith in juries has been slightly restored, for now...
@ArmstrongGN:
The jury has left the courtroom. Victim impact statement to be read by lawyer of victim's father. #Magnotta

Crown says Lin Jun's father leaving Jan 8. Has impact statement but lawyer asks to call Lin Jun's mother first. Break till 12:15
That poor family, that poor boy. My heart breaks in every way for the torture that subhuman put them through. May he never see the light of day - very proud of the Canadian justice system right now. #RIPJunLin
So relieved that the jury got this right. Still will wonder why it took so long but I guess we'll never know.
I also feel very emotional right now for Jun Lin and his parents/family. Such a waste. I hope they can get some kind of peace that the verdict was the highest charge/punishment we could give under Canadian law.
Heard some background chatter on the livestream, one journalist says Magnotta has some white hair now. Bet he's loving that, on top of all the extra weight. :laugh:
