"Tuesday (Oct 8),
kayakers were once again seen on the river using specialist sonar equipment
as North Yorkshire Police vehicles drove along the verge of the waterway.

Missing person's posters have been plastered around the market town with Victoria's face on,
including outside the Derwent Arms pub,
where searchers have gathered."

Mysterious bag?? It's the paper M&S carrier bag from the petrol station, visible on the counter when she was making her purchases.

I thought they said when the family found the backpack, that the 2 drinks were in it.

Also, that may indeed be the M&S paper bag w/her purchases in it that she's clutching to her chest, but that's not all there is, is it? The pic is so blurry, I can't tell at all what it is, but it looks like she's holding a real handful of things there along w/the bag. Something kind of reddish or orange or dark pink? Almost looks like it could be a stuffed animal; I sort of see fuzzy legs or something, but I may be seeing things by now. It kind of gives it the look of a glove or a hand or something, see what I'm talking about? Or maybe that just IS her hand I'm seeing, or maybe it's just the design on the bag. Whatever it is, she carries it like I did as a student, many yrs ago, every day, with all my school books/notebooks/etc., just like many students still do, I'm sure. Are we sure she didn't ever go in the library? Maybe she thought she could go there and so was carrying papers or research materials of some kind, or just books to return. Almost looks like a whole stack of newspapers. Looks like a lot of whatever to me.

Also, a couple other things that sort of confused me... she bought the drinks at the BP garage (I think that was the name), so is there an M&S Food outlet in their store? Or was she already carrying the M&S Food bag when she got to BP? If so, she would've had other things already with her from home in the food bag (like what?). Unless there's an M&S along her way that she stopped at before BP, but why no mention of that that I've heard?

And finally, M&S uses paper bags? I would've thought plastic was used everywhere, although now that I type that, I seem to recall that other (more progressive) places have downscaled or even banned plastic bags for the environment. Not so where I live, all plastic bags still everywhere here, but we're not the most "progressive" in many ways!
