That must be the same UID unless the bones were so scattered that there were two locations. They found what appeared to be a human jawbone.

SEARSBURG, Vt. (WCAX) Vermont state police are investigating the discovery of remains in Searsburg.

Someone contacted police Tuesday to report finding what he believed was a human jawbone at a gravel pit on Somerset Road.

The bone was taken to the chief medical examiner's office in Burlington for further examination.

Police are now searching the area where that bone was found and the investigation is active and ongoing. Anyone with possible information in the case is asked to call state police at the Shaftsbury barracks at 802-442-5421.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:
Investigators with the Vermont State Police have successfully identified the victim whose remains were found last year in Searsburg.

Utilizing DNA analysis and extensive investigative work, police are now able to positively identify the victim as Jessica Hildenbrandt, 43, of Ballston Spa, New York. Ms. Hildenbrandt, also known as “Red,” spent considerable time in Vermont, especially in and around Bennington. She was last in touch with her family in July 2019.

Police initially were called to investigate the discovery of a jawbone that appeared to be human located at a gravel pit on Somerset Road. Subsequent investigation located additional human remains at the site.

The Vermont Chief Medical Examiner’s Office has ruled the manner of Ms. Hildenbrandt’s death a homicide, and the cause is currently undetermined.

Hildenbrandt, who troopers said was known by the nickname "Red," spent significant time in the Bennington area. Her two Facebook pages indicate an ex-boyfriend lived there.

On April 1, 2019 she posted an apology on Facebook to people she "hurt through my insane toxic relationship." Her final Facebook post was on July 7, 2019.

Vermont State Police have arrested a man on a murder charge in the 2019 death of a woman following the identification of her remains. The arrest comes three years after the woman told authorities "she feared for her life."

Deven Moffitt, 32, of Bennington, was taken into custody on a second-degree murder charge on Wednesday in the death of 43-year-old Jessica Hildenbrandt, police said in a news release.
