My dad was the first to locate the car after informing the police my mom was missing. The officers trying to locate her car knew it was a Subaru and assumed it was the station wagon type, when in fact it was a sedan. So while they were searching my dad was able to locate it before them. He did not go inside, or touch the car after he located it.

Also some new info for you guys. Police found nothing of value to on my moms computers to assist their investigation.

Hi stryker57!
Thanks for the information!

16 years ago my mother passed of ovarian cancer, she and my dad were married 51 years. I later learned from a close friend that he told her he didn't want to live anymore. My mom was his world, they did everything together, all us kids were out of the house. Fortunately he is still living and learned he was able to live without her. Unfortunately some people will end their lives and never learn that they can live without the one they considered their whole world.

Surely you know more than I but it seems that the ground searches start at the last place the missing person was known to be and then out in a radius of 2 miles or so. The searchers that found her were a group of co-workers, not professional searchers, IIRC.

I would like to know how this St. Valentine's Day search area was chosen and by whom.

Being found on Valentines Day? That makes sense why these diversions were set in place. She wanted to be found on Valentines?
She needed animal blood, her phone off, confusion of every kind, throwing people in different directions?
If we saw the direction she went, it wouldn't have worked?
She was at "the end of her road"..so she went to the end of one?
She controlled how she died, and everything we think in between, was to control the way she would be found ??

Is that a coincidence? This is the only thing i could make sense of, but yet THERE IS NO WAY SHE COULD DO THAT...

Don't forget the finger cuts, the razor in the pocket, and turn off phone and discard phone and wallet on the way to the culvert, perhaps by following the creek after traveling mostly easterly to the creek. The blood may have been put in the car at home, either that morning or the night before, most likely that morning.

I personally don't think she "fell" into the creek. I think she put the bag over her head, then stood or knelt in the water and then put herself in the water face down, to either have the cold shock reaction, or to relax enough to just eventually slip away. (I am sure some of you won't believe that bit)

Surely no one believes she was dumb enough to believe that the police would confuse animal blood with human blood. Again this woman was brilliant. If she was going to kill herself she would have had and found much easier methods. The same can be said in defense of her husband. Given his life's experiences if he wanted to kill her no one would have found her. I can't come on here very much as it upsets me too much. I just keep praying the justice will be served.

Did Mike have any enemies? Was there someone that wanted to hurt Mike in the worst way possible and this was the way it was done? And to be found on Valentine's Day? It seems this might be a cold, calculated, personal attack on Mike Deboer instead of looking at just Cheryl Deboer's activities and relationships with people. Was there a coworker or a friend that wanted to take something away from Mike? Make him feel as much pain as possible? But then maybe the killer felt remorse at the end by folding her glasses...? Just a theory that maybe we need to look closer at Mike's relationships with people instead of just Cheryl's?

It seems that either way, whether it was a suicide or a homicide, the animal blood was staged. Why weren't there blood stains on the sidewalk or on the street anywhere? If she hit an animal or if anyone came up to Cheryl with an injured animal...with the amount of blood that stryker described...there should be a blood trail.

Also, I wonder if LE ever interviewed any of the couple of vans with people living in them that seem to be parked there regularly....maybe they would know something

Good point about the blood trail. That shuts down my theory unless they had picked it up with plastic or a thick towel.

A thought occurred to me this morning about maybe it all looking different to the way it actually was, by someone revisiting the scene... if it actually was a murder...
What if this was a fast, heat-of-the-moment murder and disposal. Then the killer watches the direction the police and media are taking with the missing person's approach and realizes they have perhaps a unique opportunity to revisit the culvert and place new evidence and perhaps remove other evidence to tip the balance in favor of a suicide verdict. Yes, it would be a risky business to revisit the culvert if you were the culprit, but if you were able to do so in the darkness of night in any of the days following Cheryl's disappearance...wouldn't it be tempting if it help conceal your crime?

Another thought along these lines:
Presumably the water current shifted the body during the days of rain following her disappearance. I don't know much about that process that sets in after death that allows the police to know if a body has been moved but obviously in this case, the police expected that some movement had taken place. Thinking along these lines, is it not possible that Cheryl was killed elsewhere, and the killer, respecting the general aspect/orientation of rigor mortis (or other factors), moved the body from another place to the culvert (and with it the bag, razor etc). Again, a risky business, but with all that water and current to wash away trace, maybe a possibility that would occur to a killer?

I haven't been on in a long time because it was upsetting me too much. I did not delete any posts and I believe I was verified as it took a few days. I gave my full information etc.

Maybe it takes awhile, IMOO.
Under your user name it still states "Registered User", not Verified.

This link isn't working for me
Anyone else?

Because I was wondering what would make the police interview the cat rescue/breeder lady?
Was it just the fact that she had seen CB ?
And why did the cat breeder show the police the food that leaked?
They must have asked her about animal blood or injuries?
I'm not sure what else I need to do to be verified. Her son can verify me. The police told me about the blood and asked if she got injured here. I showed them a package of the meat mix I had defrosting. I still have a package of the meat if they needed it. Each batch is a different blend. They interviewed me because I was the last known person to see her alive other than her husband. And I could further discredit the suicide theory. Again she was compassionate. She wouldn't wait months then take home a cat and then disappear knowing it was going to take him months to acclimate and rebond with his brother that they already had. Adult male cats can be very challenging to introduce.

Mountlake Terrace - Mountlake Terrace police are asking for the public's help in locating a missing woman.
Cheryl DeBoer, 54, was supposed to meet a friend at the Mountlake Terrace Park and Ride lot and carpool to work Monday morning. She texted her friend around 7 a.m. saying that she would catch a bus instead; she has not been seen or heard from since. Her vehicle was located parked in the 23400 block of 58th Avenue SW in Mountlake Terrace.

The Snohomish County Medical Examiner on Tuesday announced that they have identified a body found in Mountlake Terrace as 53-year-old Cheryl DeBoer. The cause and manner of death are pending further investigation, the ME's office said. Mountlake Terrace Police had said there is no reason to believe the public is in danger following the discovery of the body.

I am sorry about how difficult it must be to come here and read these posts and their content. I think it was good that the police were able to clear Cheryl's husband in the early days otherwise the speculation here would have gone in a very ugly direction and become unbearable for anyone in the circle of friends and family. As it is, the suicide scenario must be very, very hard to read about. I think that is why so many of us are on the fence, and many lean toward the idea of a strange murder as preferable, however horrid that idea is too.

Yesterday we were mentioning the police's visit to you and your discussion about the fresh pet food. I'm not sure if you've had a chance or even want to scroll back but some here were wondering if you were contacted as a matter of normal investigative procedure of recent contacts OR if thew police came to you with questions specifically about the possibility of the liquid in the car coming from the cat food...

Thanks for coming back and giving us your input. I appreciate your contributions as I can see how painful it must all be as someone who has known Cheryl and her family for years - My sympathies.

ETA: Sorry, I was probably still typing this as you were responding to an earlier post.

1.You would have to message a moderator. 2. That was the question I had, thanks

Well they're STILL testing it. If the goal was to confuse police/searchers, it only had to work long enough for her to take her life.

From "justiceforcheryl" thread #6 - post166
I prefer to use the human grade organic grass fed food from the butcher shop. Many of us do that. The butcher stuff does leak easily as I showed the police when they were here.

All posts from this poster (who identified themselves as Cheryl's cat breeder friend) are linked below and the post I quote above is from their 3rd post.

I understand that without verification we have to take it with a grain of salt but the whole cat story and the poster's contributions ring true with me. I hope the Justiceforcheryl will return here, maybe become verified and answer a few questions :)

I only have access to this through my phone. I'm not sure what to do to become "verified" I sent them my full name and address and website and pretty much all they could want. I don't have time to go through all of the threads. Nor the energy. I just want people to know that she didn't kill herself.
