The same link is on my posting above CptCarl's and is live.
Weird. It goes to a link and says, "
Not Found
This is somewhat embarrassing, isn’t it?

It looks like nothing was found at this location. Maybe try a search?

Nothing really to add there, was kind of using as a bump, cliff notes "
“We have no leads,” Wheeler admitted.

Detectives are following “a couple of tips” that Wheeler declined to discuss, “but so far, none has led us to anything,” he said.

“That doesn’t mean people should stop calling” with information, he noted.

“We are not at a standstill,” Wheeler stressed. “We are doing something. But for me to say we have a suspect or someone we’re zeroing in on is not appropriate, either.”

Wheeler said he can understand neighbors frustrations. “We’re frustrated too with nothing to go on,” he said.

He also said can’t be sure the killer wasn’t someone who just happened by.

“I don’t think it was a burglary … well, I just don’t know, he said. “I can’t put people at ease by saying it’s not someone going door to door just to see who’s home.”

That is what has neighbors worried.

Until they hear something, they’ll stay on their toes and look out for each other, Mrs. Benson said. A neighbor up the road is organizing a Crime Watch meeting for later this month, and many nearby residents have purchased home security systems, she said." Kitsap sun July 15th 1987
