Groeneveld went home from his job as a U.S. Postal Service letter carrier Monday morning. His wife spoke with him at their home on Union Avenue, and he may have left in an agitated state at 10 a.m. He brought no keys, no cell phone and no wallet. He left saying something about going to “the river.”

Drones, a police boat and volunteer search parties have been checking the Snohomish and Pilchuck rivers. Officers have been reviewing security footage, to no avail. Groeneveld is in good shape, and walks almost everywhere he goes.

Detectives investigate disappearance of missing 63-year-old Snohomish man

Henry Groeneveld was last seen around 9:30 a.m. in the 400 block of Union Avenue in Snohomish, Shari Ireton with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office said.

Ireton said Groeneveld told his family members he was “going to the water” before leaving his home. Police searched areas around the Snohomish and Pilchuck rivers. Rescue helicopters and a marine unit were used in the search. Surveillance footage outside of Groeneveld’s home has also been reviewed. But no sign of Groeneveld has been found.

His wife said he left in an "agitated state" - domestic argument?

[h=1]Examiner's office positively identifies body of Henry Groeneveld found at Dagmar's Landing[/h]
The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office has positively identified the body found at Dagmar’s Landing in Everett as that of Henry Groeneveld, who had gone missing in Snohomish back in early December.

Sheriff’s spokesperson Shari Ireton said City of Everett employees were clearing brush at Dagmar's Landing in north Everett on Tuesday morning when they found the body of the missing Snohomish man. The 63-year-old was last seen by his wife in early December.
The examiner’s office has determined Groeneveld’s death as a suicide by drowning.

RIP Sir :rose:

There are many posts by the official FB missing page attributing Henry’s depressed state to a hostile work environment. I sure hope that there is an investigation, since several others have experienced the same. Very sad.

The daughter said on the Vanished podcast that the supervisor is no longer in that capacity. I don't recall if he left, got fired, moved or what. A good HR person will stop the retaliation, you just have to keep documenting and hang on until the investigation runs its course. Been there done that, and boy did I want to quit, but I didn't in the hopes it would help those who came after me.
