I am guessing that the court date on 8/10 is not actually his trial date, right? Just a hearing that they will "set up a date" for it? As he has a status conference after that. And trials usually start in the morning.

Death-penalty decision delayed for alleged cold-case killer
William Talbott is charged here in the 1987 slaying of a young Canadian couple.

July 19, 2018

"EVERETT — Snohomish County prosecutors now have until Nov. 30 to decide whether to seek the death penalty in the 1987 killings of a young Canadian couple.

Superior Court Judge Linda Krese approved the extension Thursday at the request of prosecutors and the defense. A new trial date was set for March....
He appeared in custody Thursday. His attorneys told the court that he maintains his innocence...

If Talbott is convicted as charged, the death penalty and life without parole are the only sentences available under state law. The trial could take as long as seven weeks, Krese said..."

Actress finds suspect in cold case murder of of teenage sweethearts using DNA ancestry website

Police had asked CeCe to look into the brutal murders of Tanya Van Cuylenborg and Jay Cook — high school sweethearts who went missing during a road trip in 1987.
[.....]
It was the first time that CeCe, whose regular job involves searching ancestry databases for DNA matches, had intervened in a murder case.
[.....]
In an exclusive interview with The Sun, she recalls: “I got the case on a Friday night. Saturday morning there were matches and by Monday we had given the name of William Earl Talbott to the police.
“The detectives were pretty much in shock.”
[.....]
Talbott’s case is one of five that CeCe appears to have solved in just three months. The mum-of-one’s interest in DNA and genetics began in 2010 and at first her work involved reuniting hundreds of families with children who had been adopted.

Not sure if this is happening since the trial was moved. I can no longer get into Skagit County to search court records.... :( Maybe someone has better luck than me! :)

@Seattle1 - since you looked up that one Washington case - can you help me find this one? Skagit County - his case # is SNO-18-1-01670-31 - if you need that.

TIA! :)

Sorry @Niner - no hearing results come up for this case number up to October 2019 for Skagit County, and even tried Snohomish. What did you use the last time you successfully searched (Name or Case #)?

Well I really don't know "what" happened, but I found him (again!)!! Looks like the trial has been continued....

EVERETT — One month after the state Supreme Court set aside the death penalty in Washington, Snohomish County prosecutors confirmed for a judge Monday that they won’t try to get around the ruling in a decades-old double murder cold case.

The issue Thursday was bail: Should it be allowed and, if so, how much?

The prosecution and defense attorneys had stated their arguments.
[.....]
.....
On Thursday, he sat between his two defense attorneys. Nearby, John Van Cuylenborg urged the judge to make sure Talbott wouldn’t get out before his trial, which is set to start in late March.

“I would encourage the court not to reopen the door” for the possibility that another family could suffer similar anguish, he said.

Krese ultimately agreed to allow bail, but she set it at $2.5 million. She said there would be a large risk of the defendant fleeing, given that he faces life in prison if convicted.
