So there weren’t cameras at the gas station she pulled up to? Sounds like someone carjacked her from the gas station, or she left on her own accord? I wonder how much gas she got…

Zachary says McBeath was pumping gas and picking up snacks for Sunday school before she went missing, and it is out of character for McBeath to be out of touch with family and friends for so long.

Puyallup police say McBeath's cell phone pings were detected at a gas station in Puyallup that Sunday morning, nearly 10 miles from the church.

"It was like a gut punch when we realized she wasn’t coming home," said Mike McBeath, Jessica's father.

Mike and his wife Daina say, as of Monday afternoon, cell phone pings have been detected on the Olympic Peninsula.

Can someone with local knowledge explain the significance (if any) of this statement? Is this the same area or different from where she was last seen? It seems quite important that they are still getting phone pings the day after she went missing. Hopefully that means it will make it easier to locate her.

I was born and grew up in Washington, living in both Seattle and SW Washington near the coast. To get to the Olympic Peninsula area (much of which is sparsely populated and contains the very large Olympic National Park) you have to drive on Interstate 5 south from Tacoma (Puyallup is Southeast of Tacoma), around the bottom of Puget sound and then North again. It's not a short drive and would NOT have been a regular or alternate route because of a road closure to where she would have been traveling based on her stated plans. A map is here: Olympic Peninsula Loop

She sounded too responsible to decide to take a spontaneous road trip.
It is possible that she might have had some kind of mental breakdown.

Update:
Puyallup police say a woman who mysteriously disappeared Monday has been found safe and alive.

Officers say she was discovered Tuesday by a ranger in the Olympic National Park, on the highway between Beach 3 and Beach 4.

Good news, I hope whatever is troubling Jessica gets resolved.
