This is so frustrating!!!! We keep going in circles.... Things keep coming up again that we have already gone over (not meaning any harm, I just think we are stuck). We need MEDIA! We need family to not be afraid to go speak out!

The LE! They will tell you in this valley not to talk!! I have had it happen! My daughter was 14 and a 20yr old took advantage of her (not a boyfriend). We think they used that date drug. Anyways...she lost it all of a sudden and blacked out, hitting her head. She woke up being raped!!! The minute she told me I called the police, and they did nothing (This guy’s father was a well known community member with money). The LE told me that he thought she was 16 so there was nothing they could do! Told me to keep quiet. I did not!!! A friend of mine called the guy and scared the **** out of him! The next day... the LE phoned me and said they would not even look at my case anymore because I stepped across the line. The LE here are politically bull****ting wrong!!!!

The LE threatens to keep quiet in this community!

My friend, her ex raped her child during a visit in Snohomish County (they live in Chelan County). The Chelan county LE seemed on it, but told her to be quiet. They said they were looking for him to take a lie detector test. She felt they were not looking for him. She called Snohomish County and told them of her concerns. They had no idea it happened!! They were pissed!! Then the next day the Chelan county sheriffs dept. calls her and tells her if she talks to anyone negative outside again they will not try to solve this case. She did not let up and contacted some WA state TV stations. The Chelan county LE ended up leaving the case unsolved, because they were pissed off!!!

Wow! This is very serious Chelan! I have heard of the "good ole boy" network here but never knew if it was real or rumor. It's terrible enough to have this happen to your daughter, but to have it covered up is horrendous!
Was there any recourse through the State Attorney General? Has anyone heard anything from any of the big names that were written to? (Nancy Grace; Greta; Oprah, etc. )

There are SO many dusty roads, gravel roads, orchard access roads, and fire roads all over the Wenatchee area; Eaglerock, Pitcher Canyon, PUD access road that goes all through town from one end of Western to the other. (Western St. runs North to South through town, parallel to the mountains....the south end of town being where Pitcher Canyon is located.The coating of sludge/backsplash on the rear of her car along with the mud coated tires indicate the car went SOMEWHERE off road.

That's exactly why I take JV's word. The questions he has answered have already been told to the police, so they would definitely call him on it if it appeared that he was a liar. He has nothing to gain from lying about what time he actually texted her, or if it was usual for her to go to the car wash or boat launch.

Based on this news video story, even MC's friends were told by the FBI not to talk about the case to anyone, including reporters.

I can see why JV may not have been told the same thing while they were treating him like a suspect. And I can see only one good reason they have yet to tell him not to talk, they are still treating him as a suspect. Although, it's more likely that someone just forgot to tell him not to talk after they ruled him out. Either way, I think it is very likely he knows something similar to what MC's friends know that might endanger the case or himself.

Nice link, Alt. Interesting that this reporter, as well as the comment on NOT talking to anyone, he also says, "Police say her debit car was missing, and her cell phone was turned off." This is the first report I have heard saying it was turned off. Interesting....

I am exhausted about the car (looks/wash)...... what matters is; was she actually there...(at a car wash). are there obvious prints, damage, or rubbing up against car..places car could have been due to mud residue.. wipers/cracked windshield prior to this day...etc... Most important is -the car should have gone directly to crime lab- hope it did prior to...parked at outdoor holding sight... the weather just does not seem important to me here...?? JMO unless Perp was wet or had residual mud on their clothing..... not good at sluthing much... just exhausted over the car. I have already stated this...But WHY does the family not go out and post more posters... It can not hurt the investigation? The spread of her posters are very thin..IMO.. Still pages behind..

FACT

Both incidents are awful!! How can the county LE quit doing their paid job because crime victims want to share crime facts?

This is the water level, (elevation above sea level), of Lake Wanapum, as measured at the forebay to the powerhouse at Wanapum dam. Wanapum Lake is the reservoir / section of the Columbia River in front of the Crescent Bar home where MC's body was found.

Water level down 3.01 feet as measured at the dam starting at 3 pm Tuesday until 2 pm Saturday (approximately when body was found). Not sure how directly that relates to the water level just off shore for the Crescent Bar property, but being water it should be somewhat proportional.

ETA: It appears these measurements may be more accurate for the water level off the CB property than I first believed. I just did a Google Earth check of the elevation of the water level. It shows up as 573 feet just above Wanapum Dam and 574 feet just below Rock Island Dam. That's a 1 foot elevation change over a nearly 35 mile long reservoir. Since our science class thought us that water cannot be compressed, it really appears that the above measurements should be nearly the same throughout the entire reservoir.

Just pulling some figures now:

From Tuesday 10 pm to when body found -- water level down ... ... ... 1.94 feet

From Wednesday 10 pm to when body found -- water level down ... ... .99 feet

From Thursday 10 pm to when body found -- water level down ... ... ... .08 feet

From Friday 10 pm to when body found -- water level down ... ... ... ... .24 feet

There was also a (approximate) 4 hour window of "high" water Saturday morning, (highest being 3 am of 568.410), this may or may not have been evident at shores of Crescent Bar. This "high" would make all water levels measured before this time down a minimum of exactly 1 feet from when the body was found.

Therefore, if the feet were in the river "water" at 2 pm Saturday, another foot of water could have been "covering" the body only 11 hours before. IMO, I don't think a foot of water would be enough to allow the body to float freely -- which IMO would have been the way someone would have left the body - floating hoping it would be taken downstream - as opposed to just lying on the rocky shoreline with feet in the river "water" - if, IF, this is the location the body was even found in.

A body being pushed out in the river water is an unknown theory for me and I've only searched out this information in the hopes of solidifying some type of theory in the coming, well, months - I guess it's gonna be.

Also, if this was the method the suspect attempted to use to dispose of the body, it appears he was "unlucky" to have attempted it during one of the higher water levels, (Tuesday thru early evening Wednesday appears water level was still "high" for this to easily occur. It still might have been "high" enough thru Thursday at 3 am or even sporadically during "high" water levels the rest of the week to be able to leave only the feet in the river "water" when the body was found.)

Sidenote: Although, "HL = ELEVATION, NATURAL LAKE" appears to be available data at other dams, it didn't appear to be available for Wanapum. Other measurements that are available for Wanapum Dam were:
QR = DISCHARGE, RIVER OUTFLOW
QG = DISCHARGE FROM POWER GENERATION
QS = DISCHARGE, SPILLWAY
HT = ELEVATION, PROJECT TAILWATER STAGE
VU = GENERATOR, STATUS (HOURLY)

The location you have marked is my second choice, based on this photo of disrupted gravel at precisely where you have your red x. In my opinion, it's a very real possibility that that's where her body was found.

During that same 02/15/2010 video, KOMO shows a seemingly sparkling new Grand Prix during narration that reveals LE found Mackenzie's car in PC. Of course, we (now) know the car KOMO displayed is not MC's actual car, and it is not the same sub-model; KOMO displayed a GT, MC's is an SE.

I know that is typical procedure for news orgs; if they do not have a pic of an actual, show a similar. My point is, they did not identify the displayed car as being 'similar' to MC's car.

There also was no crime scene tape in the water surrounding the 'excavation' area labeled in the still capture ... but there is crime scene tape surrounding the water (2+ feet into the water) along the PUD land along the 156 CBR property. Not clearly shown in the video.

KOMO displayed a grassy area of the taped-off 156 CBR property during their "...passers-by found her body near Crescent Bar..." narration. At the bottom left in the 2nd attached pic I see yellow paint and 'disturbed' ground ... figure 8 area, perhaps? No, I do not believe LE recovered MC's body at the '8'.

KOMO displayed the 'excavation' gravel area during the following narration: "They're still interviewing friends and relatives." No verbal association with body location.

News reports, concurrently, can be informative and misleading:

The 1st attached pic is a screen cap of what KOMO 'suggests' as being Mackenzie's car. We know it isn't.

The 2nd attached pic is a screen cap of what KOMO 'suggests' as being where Mackenzie's body was found. I believe it isn't.

The 3rd attached pic is a screen cap of the 'excavation' area, displayed with apparently non-relevant narration.

The 4th attached pic is a screen cap of an LG phone owned by a WHS teen interviewed by KOMO. I wonder if it's the same as Mackenzie's and if all / most / some mobile phone-carrying teens at WHS have the same phone / provider? Does VzW provide better coverage in the area or is it simply teens want the 'cool' phone?

I think Trinidad is basically a gas station and not much more! Kindof up on the highway. All the years I've lived here I don't think I've ever been down to Crescent Bar. My son took our boat down there one year for a big Labor Day party!!! Quincy is actually several miles away, but I think it's considered within Quincy city limits. I think I'm gonna have to make a road trip and take my own pictures!

I think someone might be confused about what they saw that day? Some of this is SPECULATION; some first hand knowledge. IMHO it just doesn't fit. :twocents:

The pics released by LE show MC's car is a 1997 Grand Prix SE. The SE model sports a bumper-mounted grill, whereas on the GT model the grill is mounted above the bumper.

I rarely see SE models (mid-atlantic region) ... not as many were sold compared to the GT.

The speck house's lights were on again tonight. The same two interior lights that were left on when LE and FBI were searching it.

There was a white car parked on the other side of the street, like the one's LE / FBI have had there before. (white car may belong to neighbor, but I highly doubt the lights belong to the neighbor.)

It is odd that the lights that were left on are the same as before (after LE left), and they are not ones that I would think would be left on.......example entry lights, garage lights, livjngroom.....

Can you determine in which rooms those lights exist?

Possible scenarios:
1. Water covering the body might explain why there was little or no blood at this crime scene. Water level drops causing LE to make a incorrect conclusion and statement "body placed" and that they are looking for another crime site?

2. If MC's clothes were dry then would it then be possible to determine the time that the perp "placed" her body? But that would be real risky for a perp to expose him/herself during daylight?

It's not my best theory and it also doesn't match up with some of those same description of feet in the "RIVER" water. IIRC, the RUMOR of her appearing dry is one of them? How could she be dry if her feet were in the water, yet only 11 hours before the reservoir was a foot higher in level. While this foot I don't think would have caused the body to float, I'm pretty sure it would have got all clothes wet, if not from being covered in an extra foot of water, at least from absorption of water. Would the clothes appear dry after 10 or 11 hours of water receding, (the water level started it major recess at 7 am only 7 hours before body was found)? MOO
