Jordan Holgerson was pushed off a bridge Aug. 7 at Moulton Falls northeast of Vancouver, Washington, and fell 60 feet. She suffered injuries ranging from broken ribs to punctured lungs. Taylor Smith, 18, created "a substantial risk of death or serious physical injury" to the 16-year-old girl and was charged with reckless endangerment following a shove captured on video that went viral.

18-year-old who pushed friend off 60-foot bridge now facing charges

The 18-year-old who pushed her teenage friend off a 60-foot bridge in Washington state, leaving her with multiple injuries, has been charged with one count of reckless endangerment.

Prosecutors filed the charge Friday, with a declaration of probable cause from the arresting officer stating in part, "it is clear that Taylor Smith engaged in conduct which created a substantial risk of death and resulted in serious physical injury to Jordan Holgerson."

Reckless endangerment is considered a gross misdemeanor that is punishable by up to a year in jail and a maximum fine of $5,000.

"I accept the charges maturely and all I can do is hope for the best for Jordan and myself," Smith told ABC News late Friday.

So she was going to jump, changed her mind and another girl pushed her?

IMO this is such a hard one to judge. Yes, the older Smith should have been more mature and obviously shouldn't have pushed her friend. But if the entire video does say that Holgerson said she might need a push, as has been alleged, then Smith is a tiny bit redeemed. Kids in groups do stupid stuff sometimes, fact. All of the kids jumping were ignoring the sign put there for their own safety, saying No Jumping. Holgerson's family must be so relieved that she survived. That is a long fall.

Defendant in Moulton Falls bridge case back in court

A woman accused of shoving her friend off the Moulton Falls bridge in August has been offered a plea deal, her attorney said Monday.
[.....]
Attorney Christie Emrich, of Vancouver Defenders, said the state presented an offer in the case Friday. The details of that offer were not shared in court.
[.....]
On Monday her next court date was set for March 18. Depending on whether she accepts the prosecution’s offer, she could be sentenced that day, or plans could be made for a jury trial.
[.....]
She (Holgerson) and her mother have been in contact with attorneys through the process. Genelle Holgerson, Jordan’s mom, said they know what the offer is but were unsure if they were allowed to share it.

I say "share it!!" :)

It has now emerged prosecutors have offered Smith a plea deal which may allow her to dodge jail.

It is reported Smith could face sentencing or a trial depending on if a plea deal is reached ahead of the hearing next month.

She pleaded not guilty to reckless endangerment in December.

If an arrangement is not reached, Smith could face up to a year in jail for the shove.
