"I don't know at this point what the coroner's office is leaning toward as far as cause of death," Brady said. "There's clearly some signs that there's a potential for foul play, but the full determination is pending the full investigation by the coroner's office."

Brady said there are no obvious signs of trauma that would indicate a cause of death. He added that sheriff's detectives have a good idea of whether the remains belong to a man or woman, but revealing that may compromise the ongoing investigation.

Here's a recap of Kiro7's interview of the 93 year old dad that found the leg. He felt he'd get arrested for murder and that's why he buried the leg. Then his daughter (thank goodness) convinced him to call the police. Both (dad and daughter) think the leg was "sawed off" and wish the victim's family peace.

This is such a strange find and it's kinda creepy the dog's name is "Liberty". JMO

I noticed this morning, most of the articles say the leg was intact but one report said the leg had flesh...the other bones did not.

This report says the leg was grey and appeared to be severed about 4" below the buttocks

Remains found near Nisqually identified as woman, ‘dismembered by human means’

Remains recently found near the Nisqually Reservation are those of an adult female with light pigmented skin who had been dismembered by human means, the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday.

“Her approximate age and cause of death are not known.”

Shantina Smiley and Nancy Moyer seem to be the only adult females missing from Thurston County in the past 5 years.

But with flesh still on the leg, 3+ years would seem to be too long of a timeframe.

And If the leg is a right leg and the foot is intact, they would probably be able rule in or out Nancy by her tattoo.
